Is there a way to tell if someone is using directional hitting in game? I swear it’s more prevalent than ever this year online.
-
@Adro97-_- give it a try. It might be better this year because pitches are being left over the plate more often, but I wouod doubt it's better or anywhere near as good as zone.
If there's an advantage to be had online, all the youtube d-holes would all be exploiting it and all of their brain dead meta followers would be following suit.
-
@go4stros25 yeah they would but I feel like there should be a way to tell in the batter analysis.

Why does it matter? Would it change how you pitch? Answer: no. So I repeat, why does it matter?

It doesn’t matter at all but some look for any excuse for why they lost instead of owning the fact that they lost because they played a bad game or god forbid the other person played better.

@aaronjw76 it would change how you pitch? Are you dumb?

Their team batting averages are all around .200 is a good sign

You can tell when ppl use any other form of hitting not named zone. Most directional hitters will never get perfect perfects. Unless u throw it down the middle. Also, most of their swings yield bad contact.
Even zone hitters that are bad will still get some good and p/p swings.
-
@Shauwn, that isn’t true… I use timing with analog input (and have for the last two years); plenty of perfect/perfect if I time it perfectly and direct the swing to the correct third of the plate with the stick.
Had my share of perfects with Directional also, but they were a bit more rare. Certainly not limited to pitches down the middle.

I think this is difficulty dependent. All Star will absolutely yields perfect/perfects.
Its much rarer near the outside/inside edges though. Top and bottom of the zone are fair game. But I imagine on HoF/Legend with the smaller PCI it gets much more rare. I'd imagine directional hitters bump back down to all star pretty quickly once they cross over.
