No, no where in there am I the least bit upset about it. I do not care at all, I’m just curious…

Good point about paralleling Ruth in BR, I didn’t consider that as I’ve not yet had him on a BR team.

I'd bet that the number of players who have finished the collection to get Ruth is the Parallel 3 number of 5291. And yes most if not all of them spent real money. Also, a lot of players are monetizing their gaming and spending money on stubs is an expense which can be written off.

I spent 300, early access weekend. And I really don't care what anyone thinks about that. I work for my money, I can spend it how I choose.

You come in here and ask people to "admit" to buying stubs like the plan is to ridicule for it or something. Not everyone works a 9-5 living paycheck to paycheck. Some people have money to burn and choose to do so by purchasing stubs.

Your OP asks if anyone would "admit" to spending money on stubs.
That comes across as if it's something to be embarrassed of.

Ok, perhaps admit was the wrong word, I wasn’t trying to ridicule anyone. It was all curiosity.

If I may ask; is that $300 all stubs? I was thinking of doing the same thing; but only spent $100.

Think I may drop another $200. I'd like to get most of the LS, minus the 90s, done before S2 drops.

Do you think a company like SDS would drop 40k packs, to get people with disposable income to then buy stubs to get said packs, if it wasn’t working?

The NMS crowd and players on this forum complaining about stubs and packs represent a small fraction of the base of players.

Yes on stubs. I do it every year. I buy packs, rip them and start knocking out collections.

I always thought spending cash on this game was dumb because you didn’t need too. You could get almost everything even as an offline guy without flipping. Those days appear to be over.

The time to do it is before memorial Day weekend, that is when the first stub sale is and the LS especially the 90+ dramatically increase in price(maybe not the whole LS this year, but the 90 + definitely will)
Edit: probably moreso this year as season 2 starts shortly after and core cards will be what everyone will have to use until start earning some s2 cards.

I had him P4 before I owned him because of the stamina glitch in BR. I bought the digital deluxe, but haven’t spent a dime on stubs. I do quite a bit of flipping though. It usually takes me about 2 weeks to have the live series done.

@a761506 Pocket check on aisle nunya business…We have a pocket check on aisle nunya business. 😂

I admit to spending $700 (probably more). And? So what? You want to try to make me feel bad for spending MY MONEY? 😂

I’ll tell you what I think…A lion doesn’t care about the opinion of sheep.

I spent real money on way to Ruth, too much. If I had it to do all over again, I would’ve waited. My OCD makes decisions for me too quickly sometimes. The game just isn’t in a good place and I’m not sure how long I’ll stick around this year. I think last year I got bored around August but came back later in the year. Injured my arm and took a break from all gaming for a few months. We’ll see about 24, but it may just end up being a TA and Franchise thing for me most of the year.

A guy in the forum said he made over 200k in stubs flipping equipment items. You can make the stubs as well if you care enough.

Was that the same day of the RTTS glitch? I’m guessing so as during that window if you didn’t have a day job the market was heavily exploited. I highly doubt he did that in a random day since the patch to fix the exploit. Margins have been razor thin and most players are very stub poor right now unless they purchased stubs. For offline players making stubs has been almost impossible.

My concern with buying stubs during a stub sale is most cards, like you stared, increase in cost because of the influx of people having more stubs.

But it takes a few weeks for the market to settle back to where it was pre-stub sale and most of the cards are still a little more than before.

Plus you also run into the chance that they'll have another sale for a different console.

Also, you don't really save as much now, compared to the past when EVERY stub component was 50% off, to warrant the extra wait on the market to adjust.

Edit: Nevermind. Reread your post and just realize that you're saying to buy the stubs BEFORE the first stub sale. My bad.

Also, why do you care so much about how other spend their money? They are not spending your money.

Some people spend that much money on booze, drugs, whores, other video games, porn... Why does one spending their own money on this bother you so much? Is there nothing else for you to worry about? Or do you worry about everything that other people do that you have no control over?

Everyone enjoys their leisure money different. I don’t spend any money in game, but my cousin will drop $50 here and there on it. If $50 can give you a good experience on the game, what’s the difference between that and going out to dinner and spending $50 for food and drinks? Both are just temporary enjoyments.

so i really started playing DD in 2020, in 2021 i spent probably 1000$ because i still didnt know how to earn stubs efficiently. in 2022 the first stub sale i needed a couple cards and spend 200$. Last year i didnt spend a dime and had Jeter 3 weeks in. this year, i havent spent a dime, and i'm still about 20 away from being done. Ive completed all the offline programs and am working on events and BR. With the AL and NL guys being 95, and Babe, who i've never been good with, i'm not in any rush. I'm trying to enjoy the Foul Ball fest.

@a761506 I have Ruth and i have not spent any money. I have everything done and i’ve grinded mini-seasons for packs. I’ve had quite a few big pulls that allowed me to get him.
