btw - it's cool my DD stuff carried over to PS5 without any problems. Do the online records also carry over?
Everything is shared with linked accounts except for stubs purchased from either MS, or PS, and rewards that came with the sub accounts game. But, if you unlink, they will be there for that version.
one more ! - I don't see any of my XBOX created stadiums on PS5. Do I have to redownload them from the vault and then upload them again to use them on PS5?
Yes. It’s rather annoying, but just like how game settings aren’t shared, either are created stadiums. They’d have to be downloaded to each console separately.
I noticed in the PS5 sleeve there is a code for 5 packs and 5000 stubs. If I redeem that on PS5, does it also show up for Xbox?

I don’t think it’s the version. If anything, it may be because the DualSense sticks are “looser” than the XBox (I use PowerA) controller. The Xbox controller fits in my hands better and I feel like I have more control with the stiffer sticks.
But, given all of that, I haven’t noticed a difference between the gameplay of each version.
I think you're right. I went back to Xbox and just the heavier weight of the Xbox controller felt so much better than the lighter weight of the DS5. I felt like I had more control and I felt like I was holding the bat in the game. Whereas on DS5 it felt more like a wiffle ball bat. The triggers on the DS5 are pretty bad for the game. When I try to steal it's weak. Maybe it's because the vibration does not match up. And when I try to take control of my batter on a hit, sometimes the DS5 doesn't take control and I don't advance to get a double.
Also, the haptic controls for PS5 should be much better. I don't know if SDS really cares for this feature but it would make this game incredible if they put some work into it.

I can't remember which streamer it was, but he said that there seems to be less input lag with XBox controllers compared to the PS5.

Not as long as the XBox is the main account. But, if you unlink now and make your PS account as main, then you won't see any of the progress that has been made on your XBox. It won't be lost, it will just remain stagnant until the accounts are unlinked again. The main account is what is kept on the servers when linked.
I would redeem them so they won't expire and then when/if you ever unlink, you will have those rewards to play with on the PS5.

This is a great way to explain the difference. They added a "hitch" on the DS5's L2 when trying to steal. I think this was to stop unintentional steals - which occasionally do happen to me on the XBox (it's so annoying when it's a man on 3rd!!!!!)

I haven't noticed this, but then I am an old & slow guy (I should change my username to Gramps) and maybe just not quick enough to notice that. My timing for pitching and hitting are the same on both consoles (controllers).

thanks for the explanation - i think i will just leave xbox as main and not use the stubs and packs code for PS5. I dont' want to mess w/ what's working as ive seen other threads saying after they unlink they lost all progress.
let me know if you want the code i will DM to you

I have unlinked and relinked before without losing any progression (it was either with 22 or 23, I don't remember). The trick is to make sure you have the correct account as your main account when relinking. Any progression you make while linked will be on your main account, regardless of which console you played on.
So, in your case, your XBox account is your main and your PS account is your sub. When you unlink, all progress you've made will be on your XBox account. Your PS account is stagnant while it's a sub-linked account. When you relink, all you are doing is allowing the server to share the info with your PS account and letting the PS5 sessions save onto your XBox account.
I hope that isn't too confusing.

Not the PowerA controller, which I specifically said I use.

I have the wired fusion pro 2. I think I paid around 30-40 for it on sale. I don’t know the difference between the fusion and enhanced.

@Blind_Bleeder the egg hunt online modes sort of got me interested in online. i had some fun games on there. i guess SDS did what it's supposed to with that mode to get more ppl to play online.
I think you were also an offline player for many years and last year you started online. I enjoyed the events and BR i sort of don't understand but i like they are also 3 inning games. Ranked seems too daunting as that's where in the past I've had terrible experiences playing others.
But would you suggest for online go with Xbox Series X over PS5? Is the control response online more quicker w/ the XB controller vs DS5 like it is offline?
-
@LuvMyXBOX_XBL At the end of 22 I did some online because that was the only way I could afford to finish the collections. Last year, I flipped cards to get the stubs to finish. I haven’t played online on the XBX (except a few friendlies, and a few league games).
I know I’ll have to go online to finish the egg hunt, but I’m going to wait until I have better cards.
Let me know if you notice a difference between the two consoles.
-
If anyone has suggestions on 3rd party controllers for PS5 that are smaller (my thumb joints are killing me after an hour playing), I'd be thrilled.

I dont' think there is a difference now that I've played both for a good while. It's the same game but I think the controller is slightly more responsive on xbox than ps5.
but if you keep playing ps5 you will adapt to the controller input. I find it that when I go from ps5 to xbox, I do better right off the bat. From xbox to PS5 there is a slight time for adjustment but once you get use to it, it's fine.
Funny thing is whenever I play on Xbox online, I get matched with a PS5 player. When I play on PS5 online, I get matched with a Xbox player. Never had a game where I'm playing the other person on the same console.
Im really enjoying the PS5 version right now. Maybe it's just because it's like a new toy feeling. The game is terrific this year when it comes to gameplay. I am happy I have both.
