Outfield assists

Im currently playing as a center field and i get about 1-3 assists per game.. i just looked up the record and its 50 assists in 1879... at this rate im going to smoke the record. Is there any way to up the fielding difficulty? Or turn down the amount of assist attempts or make it so the computers don't run on a 90 arm

Dude, I'm with you. I have played 15 games at AA and I have 11 outfield assists. Outfield defense is reality breaking. I've lost my immersion and am going to start over as a third baseman or something I guess. I guess too many people complained about the weak fly balls so they overcompensated in the other direction and did this.

You can try turning down the fielder arm strength slider and see if that helps.
And/or turn up baserunner speed.
