The notion that this is intentional for what ever reason is ridiculously absurd.

It's an obvious bug. No developer is going to put in a bug like this that makes them look incompetent for whatever tin foil hat reason people are speculating.

I play my conquest games on allstar, hoping it will help fix pitching control. For the most part, it is better than rookie and veteran. However, today the pitcher walked my first 3 batters on 13 pitches. Then Sexson hits a slam on the 1st pitch down the middle, lol.

Every release is late or very late. There's no way this is working as intended.

@MetalDoc17 said in cpu throws wayyyyy too many balls on rookie:

@Dankmaymays I kinda think it’s working as they intended at the start of the season. They seem to have done everything possible to slow down the grind early in the cycle this year. If XP gains for CPU games (etc) aren’t increased soon, I’m gonna be OUT early and unfortunately I’ve already paid good money on the game for digital deluxe and quite a few stubs.

    Maybe. Would be logical.

So, a few things… either helpful or not.

    1. I actually had a CPU pitcher throw a “perfect” pitch earlier today. It was still 3 feet off the plate though… so…

    2. For those that say playing on higher levels decreases the noticablity of the issue, you’re right… but… let me put it this way: I played three 9-inning legend CPU games today and still got walked 14 times. It would have been more, but I’m so bad at the game, I still swing at obvious balls

    3. Finally, there is no way this is intentional. If it was intentional, the code likely would have changed the dynamics of the different pitch release types, not just changed the release types all to “very late”. At least, I assume that’s how they would have done it as opposed to making it extremely obvious that they jacked the system.

I also had a lone perfect pitch (way off the plate). Weird. so 99.99%% very late and .01% "perfect"

Something definitely is broken. Every single CPU pitch timing is “Very Late” no matter what. Same if you use classic pitching style, every pitch is also “Very Late”. But I do wonder if it could be a visual glitch.

Another night, another two dozen or so screenshots of at-bats starting 3-0 ON ROOKIE/VETERAN. In Conquest and in Miniseasons.

    FIX THIS SDS.

@Shauwn Yeah I tried various difficulties, it's pretty much the same across the board. I think that the CPU has walked Judge like 75-80% of the time for me. I rarely see a strike with him

I think the ball / strike problem gets a tad better as you go up in difficulty level but not a ton

Strikes / Balls % --- super rough estimate -- give or take a 5 % variance based on RNG and other factors

    Rookie -- 25 / 75 ---- Vet 30 / 70 ----- AS 35 / 65 etc etc etc

@blitz77tw you shouldn't have to up the Difficulty to see less balls, that's absolutely ridiculous, if you up the Difficulty it should be more of a experience of what it would be online since you play on those difficulties.

There is a portion of the community that plays against the CPU wether that be Mini Season, Conquest or Player vs CPU on Rookie cause that is what they're comfortable doing, It is disappointing to see the CPU pitch count in the 2nd inning and see they have thrown barely any strikes.

Yeah this needs patched pronto. Going to entire games without a single pitch over the plate. That cannot be intentional design.

Something not mentioned as much -- there are almost no center-cut meatballs on Rookie, which is hilarious. On easier difficulty you should get at least a few an inning. Not only does the CPU throw 75-80% balls, the strikes are usually on the outside of the zone.

Was not aware of how many good players grind on Rookie. I have not done any grinding for PXP yet (I kind of hate that) but on Conquest I always choose veteran. I can still see the issue on that difficulty but it does not bother me much, if at all.

We are aware that the CPU is throwing too many balls in Diamond Dynasty and are currently investigating the issue.

I happen to like the change. Walks are part of the game and they have been basically nonexistent in previous versions of the game. Learn some patience.

    JESUS GOD THANK YOU.

Communication from SDS confirming that you're aware of it and are working on it -- all we ask for (if we can't get a game that works on release, that is...).

    @GoozeFn

Funny enough, I kinda do too. Maybe not this much but it’s definitely helping me to sit back and not swing at everything.

What a joke. "Walks are part of the game" is not the same as 75% of at-bats starting 3-0. Do you not understand that? Is it difficult to see that distinction?

Learn the difference between more realistic and broken.

What you're saying is tantamount to, "I like that the game is now a training module teaching you not to swing."

Remember a few years ago when you actually needed to get some walks when grinding towards certain player missions? It was nearly impossible against the CPU. It’s not fun in offline grinding now when you are trying to accumulate other offensive stats.
