Problem with high sinkers

Didn't they patch it last year? To make it less effective, maybe this year they'll do the same. Sick of facing it

They said they made it so it has "less break" but I sure didn't notice a difference and I still don't.

The sinker has been like this for years in this game. If they could fix it without breaking pitching they would. But I’m guessing they don’t fix it because it will break more things than it will fix

Agreed. Anything low is destroyed actually. This is what happens when dudes who have no real baseball knowledge make a video game. Pitching is [censored] backwards. The high sinker abuse is comical. Never seen a mlb pitcher throw a high and in sinker on purpose. Hell, never seen a high school pitcher do it either
Makes this game so hard to play for people that actually play the sport and try to use similar methods in the game.

Yeah, it’s pretty hard to actually induce ground balls with sinkers in this game.

Problem with high sinker is they have a little hump on them that makes them look like a breaking ball. In real life that is impossible. Probably developers never stand in a batters box before.
That’s what I’m saying, high sinkers in real life are so flat so there should be no movement on them at all.

High sinkers need to be nerfed and low sinkers buffed

Exactly. Developers have no baseball clue.

Can anybody teach me how to throw a breaking ball in the dirt as opposed right down the middle with a good timed pitch?

They said they made offspeed up in the zone less accurate last year.

Hopefully ps5 version uses an actual physics engine.

The sinker does induce groundballs when it’s thrown below the zone in this game. It has the correct drop that makes people roll over it.
The reason low pitches are destroyed is because it’s very easy to drop the PCI to the bottom of the zone, not necessarily because low pitches are inherently bad. If you throw a sinker below the zone where it should be you’ll get an out.
I agree that high sinkers do need to be fixed. The issue is that every pitch keeps the same movement regardless of where it’s thrown, hence why high sliders still move a lot. The sinker still has the same movement high as it does low.

I played a game today Started Oswalt and then brought Kluber in relief. 90% high sinker but Eddie drove in 5

I found the best way to induce ground balls with sinkers is to throw it like belt high and in because the game makes pitches drop lower and if ppl are sitting low with zone they over react and actually get on top of it. If u start it low tho they stay low and crush it. I mean I use real pitching methods when I play and have good success. Only get lit up with my guy hangs a pitch and it totally misses where I want to throw. High sinkers suck but it is what it is right now. Klubers is really the only one that gives me trouble. I act like it’s a fastball and that works well. It’s hard though that’s for sure.

Some pitchers high sinkers move more than others. Soroka comes to mind as someone who’s sinker up seems to move more. I think klubers sinker up though is easy to read and hit.

Then why did they "fix" fielding?
