Mantle 99

Well, I don’t know about the money, but many people have the time due to Covid stay at home orders.

I have been playing non stop and I am nowhere close to ever getting it. I truly believe cards like Alomar and Wagner which I would love should be purchases . Even team affinity cards and prospects all cards should be able to be purchased with stubs.

I got Mantle, not through money but through a ton of time.
Didn't buy packs, saved every stub.
- Did everything for free packs and got lucky, pulled around 10 diamonds from free packs (Conquest, events etc).
- Showdown made me a good amount, between the rewards in it + the affinity rewards, it's a great way to make stubs.
- Made WS and sold that
- Got 1000 stars in the 1st inning program and sold everything from that.
- Got 150 event wins and sold everything from that
- Got to gold 60 in xp level and sold everything sellable from that.
- Did some flipping on the market.

For those of us not lucky enough to pull diamonds and not good enough to make WS or win Showdowns my team is only ranked 87 overall right now. 1000 stars I will never see either.

Ha, not quite 250 hours, but you're close. Don't really have anything better to do right now.

By having a job that’s decent. Had Mantle day one.
Don’t regret it either. Last year I waited all year for Babe Ruth, by the time I got him I was burnt out and I quit playing a few weeks later.
I’ve wanted Mantle for years in this game. When I heard he was in it, I decided to invest in the game this year. I wanted to use him all year.
I play this game enough that is was worth it.
He is great by the way too. So much fun using that card.

I mean you can, you just have to dedicate to flipping, I made about 5k or so in 2 hours last night just flipping low end cards and duplicates

That's by design, not everyone is supposed to get them. You either got to put in a lot of time, or a good amount of money.

I envy you, I'd much rather buy them outright, would save a lot of time. Good for you that you can do that.

I appreciate this. I am just a Mets fan who likes certain players and disappointed I will never see them. I might think about spending money on stubs if I knew I could buy the Wagner card for example.

First few days. As long as it took me to piece together the live collection. I just mean I did it immediately. Almost have him at Blood Diamond too.

I envy you all who are that successful at this game. I am a ok player and really struggle finding the ability to get the top notch players. In madden I knew for a while I would not be able to buy 94-96 players and this week because game out so long and all players purchaseable I got 5 this week.

One thing you have to remember too. Mantle is their “new” legend. Next year he will be much easier to acquire. They probably spent a ton of money to get the rights to him. That’s why he’s a collection reward.
SDS is the least greedy of all these type of games. I don’t mind spending money on this game.
