For the past 3 years for sure and possibly longer, there is a problem with the base runners returning to previous base Instead of continuing to next base when trying to steal and swinging at a pitch or even when making contact and putting the ball in play. I have tried numerous settings and making sure assist is off and it still does it. Causes many outs and lost opportunities along with lost games because of this screw up. Is there a setting to stop this or is it just something they do not want to fix ?

Can you be more specific? Like give an example of a situation (runner on 1st), describe what you're trying to achieve (steal 2nd), mention what buttons you press and then the outcome?

Stealing and advancing baserunners have been tweaked to combat exploits. Not sure if that's what you're encountering here, which is why more specifics would be welcome.

I manually control them so don’t have many issues

But one happened yesterday. Runners on 1st and 2nd and they started running on their own. Normally a sign it’s gonna hit the wall. But the fielder MADE the play. And yep. Triple play. Not even my own fault 🤣

@raesONE- Man on first and press the steel lever to request the steal. I then press the x button to swing at the pitch and the runner turns around and starts going back to first. Or, Start the steal and hit the ball to the outfield and it is going in the gap so I am pressing the level for all runners to advance but the runner on base is in the process of returning to the previous base. Happens WAY too often.

So the last part of where you hold down the button to advance all runners, that's definitely lag related. I've been in that situation many times dating back since MLBTS 15, so at some point I learned to send the baserunners to the correct bases manually.
I have personally never experienced a runner who is attempting a steal to turn back around on it's own. Ever only happens if I hit the command for them to return, so not sure what that's about.

I’ve never had this happen once in the ~3000 games I’ve played in 2023 through DD or franchise. Or in the multiple thousands more games played through any game since this game came into existence.
