That’s baseball for ya

Get two hits with Jean Segura, one for extra bases. Hit a double into the gap, but the cpu throws a runner out at home and scores the play a base hit. This game, man.
I usually enjoy moments but that is one of my biggest pet peeves. An obvious double to the gap and the runner who was on first getting thrown out trying to score from first
-
I've experienced this a few times, but it's never as bad as the one and only time I 'completed' the Lou Gehrig 4 XBH extreme moment in '20, only for the lead runner to stop at second on the deep drive into the gap.
-
@cbpm72 oofff - that moment took me forever. EXTREME...
-
That moment when you have great user input on a pitch only to have it defy physics and jump a foot right into the center of the plate. This is especially fun when it happens in the moonshot event where it's already difficult getting outs.
-
True infuriating Moments are trips to the supermarket. Let's be honest
-
I guess the upside is Jean smacked a tank on his next appearance so I got my revenge, but yeah.

I have had different actions leading to the same result. Get x number of hits with 1 XBH. I get hits in the first two at bats, make an out in the third at bat, come to bat with a runner on first in what is clearly going to be my final at bat.
I then rock a liner into the gap and nobody is in the same zip code. Runner on first gets to second and STOPS. Challenge failed.

in the 2020 moments you have one at bat with Victorino and you have to hit a home run. Every pitch is thrown so you can't pull the ball towards Pesky's pole, and it hits the monster or is caught at the track in left center. I think his power for that card was only in the low 50s. I never was able to beat that one.
Same issue with the Jackie Robinson program. Hit one home run in Forbes. Had one try where I hit it to center, rounded third and the throw was way off line and Stallings, speed rating in the low 30's somehow beat Robinson from nearly the dugout to the plate in a dash.
Eventually I did get the inside the park homer, but it took me almost 8 months.

They go into transwarp when it’s a race to the base lol if it looks like you might win it’s like they just teleport to bridge the gap

Moments are whack. Something very hinky going on behind the scenes here. I’m gonna randomly select one I didn’t do from the Topps Now Program. I skipped some and never went back for one reason or another. Now I’m going back to get the cards in this instance Chipper Jones since I took Pedro and Babe. Get 3 hits with Stone Garrett.
Stone Garrett: CL 114 PL 104 CLT 118
Starting pitcher is Austin Gomber: H/9 is 48, PCLT is 46
It should be cake. It took me 12 tries to get 3 hits and several of the tries I only had 3 at bats and in 1 of the 3 I drew a walk or got hit by pitch.
I find that to counter removal of weather they make the CPU team get so far ahead they have maximum momentum which makes their garbage pitcher somewhat impossible.

@fubar2k7
It’s more than that. The cpu attributes don’t matter. -
Oh the “Play it again DJ” moment is pretty silly too. Get 6 bases with a card that has 75 power that couldn’t leg out a double if his life depended on it? Yikes.
Why is Paxton throwing over to first three times an at bat and pitching out??
-
Moments are very bizarre altogether. Ever notice that besides what was mentioned above that the CPU starter will be on pitch 1 with max confidence and yet your batter could be the second or third man up? That’s impossible and shows just how slanted the programming is at times.

It’s more than that. The cpu attributes don’t matter.I find that in offline modes that is very much the case. Bronze tier pitchers with 59 control that can superdot at will, and have breaking pitches like in a bugs bunny cartoon.
The AI also appears to be very generous to itself by giving the AI pitchers a bigger strike zone. By this I mean that 99.9% of any pitch on the black is going to go their way, but the same pitch from you is going to be a ball.
I wish I could show a picture of it, but how many times have you thrown a pitch where 3/4 of the ball is in the zone, but called a ball, but when you come to bat the very next time and the AI throws a ball where at best one pixel of the ball touches the outside of the line is a strike?

Lol a single pixel I gotta remember that one
