Third Strike, for suspicious behavior?
-
I was in the middle of an MTO season, paused a game to walk the dog, held on to my win for an 8-7 win, ended the game, it simmed a game or two and went to the draft (which I skipped and set on auto), and then once the draft was done it said I got a third strike for suspicious behavior. That I could key playing but would get no team affinity for the rest of the campaign.
I stared at the TV in disbelief, and then puzzlement. I mean, in past seasons (of 12 years playing this game), sure, I have rage quit an MTO game or two and gotten warned, especially in the postseason, but not in this season. I didn’t even have one warning, and my record was 65-28. Especially after simming some games and the draft. What gives?

What? How can you get in trouble playing the computer?

You can lose any benefits if you rage quit a game, and they’ll usually warn you once when you log back in, since the same thing can happen if your game freezes or you lose power. But this was odd, happening mid-sim. Just mentioning it here in case anyone else experienced this or has an idea what happened. The most annoying thing was losing my progress, and now having to build up a decent bullpen again from the start of the year. Sigh.

I’ve never heard or experienced this but then again I don’t dashboard either. But even if I did I would never touch this game again if they punished me for having a bad day.

Heck you’ve taught me something at least. I had no clue you could sim MTO at all. Every time I’ve played the mode it gave you the option to save your in game progress and return to it later I thought. I’m sorry man that stinks.

No, you can’t sim MTO, but I mean that the CPU will sim in between playable game “moments” (and sim the draft as well).

@asocial_grace That's wild that it skipped your first two strikes. I haven't seen that. However, I've had issues with the strikes all year, too. It seems like they just randomly pop up. You can see the last post in the MTO forum for my story (title "What in the world constitutes "exploitative behaviors"???").
I just got my first strike since I made that thread, so I came back to the forum, and again, I didn't do anything differently. I exited the mode, closed the app, and turned off the console. When I came back, I got the warning.
Here's the exact message that pops up for people who haven't seen it:
"ATTENTION
Hmm. Something isn't quite right.
Was the mode exited unnaturally?Be careful to only exit the mode through our menu
options or risk compromising your rewards."
