Practice swing

When, and why, did they take this out of H2H modes?
-
@X-FREEZE-OFF-X
I seem to remember people complaining about the practice swing slowing down online play.The pitching player couldn’t select a pitch and go into the delivery until the practice swing was finished.
There was a bunch of hoo-ha about it on here and SDS removed it. I want to say this was around MLBTS 19?
-
Why in the world would you want it?

Ah, so the quick pitchers complained. Gotcha.

Thank God I started playing online in 2020 this would have drove me nuts. I’m floored this was ever a thing all you do is hit X to swing, if you need practice doing that do it on your own time playing single player
-
Could you still press R2 and see where the pitch went? If so, what’ll stop people from just doing that and keeping it pressed down.
-
@fubar2k7
That was a thing too, which is why they now limit that to once per AB. -

Now I know why only ~200 people where playing the game online during the month of June and July which I assume is peak for a baseball game. Seems like they’re nitpicking away really random things out of the game. Not saying these are deal breakers but it literally takes a millisecond to do those things.
-
The point is that people were abusing those things to mess with their opponent’s pitching delivery and induce meatballs.

@halfbutt_PSN Okay. I get that then. Kind of like pausing between pitches.
