Did SDS change two-way players?

Hey y'all,
Played MLBTS23 at launch, and with Ohtani (and Dihigo too) you could have them in your lineup or bench only and they would still show up as potential starting pitchers, so you basically had a six (or seven) man rotation.
Took some time away from the game, because sets are awful, I came back, got Finest Ohtani, and now that feature doesn't work anymore. DH only he's not in the menu to pitch. Got to have him in the rotation to pitch and if you want him to DH the same game you're running a man down on your roster.
What's going on? Am I missing something?

It may have been to fix the two way glitch. Where the starter ALWAYS had max energy regardless when brought out from the pen.
What you’re describing exactly isn’t something I’m familiar with though.

I think he’s describing the glitch they got rid of but maybe I’m wrong as well.
