Not winning program stars even when I complete in game challenges

So I go ahead and play a game in road to the show as a starting pitcher. Before this, I had 68 program stars, at some point in this game, I get a challenge like “end the inning without allowing a run or a walk”, the rewards were +P Clutch and +3 Progam Stars and I accept it, I complete it successfully. I go back to my clubhouse, click on “see tasks and rewards”, and I still have only have 68 and can’t unlock anything.
Not sure if this is because the show doesn’t want to connect to the internet so I can’t buy or sell new equipment, perks, players, etc (even though I can play multiplayer no problem, which is odd). This is so freaking annoying and I can’t upgrade my player as fast, should be in the majors by now but I can’t find a single solution to my technical issues in this game.
