Item currently in use

Hello, I am trying to sell some Season 3 players but I keep getting an error message saying item currently in use. Please unequip item.
These players are nowhere on my Diamond Dynasty Squad, they are not in any Mini Seasons Squads (including the bench), nor are they on my Event squad. How can they be currently in use? Is this a glitch? I cannot find where they could be at all? Any help? Thanks.

I have 3 squads set up. I have gone through every Mini Seasons and every Event for each squad and the players are nowhere on any roster and the message stills says item in use. I don't know what else I can do. The players have not been collected for anything and they are not No Sell players.

Are they only right handed or only left handed? It's possible they may be in the right tighty or lefty lossy mini seasons that arn't around anymore. This has been a problem this year.

It's actually a mix of position players and pitchers. There's about 5 players that will not allow me to sell, across a couple different seasons. Most are from Season 3 but one is from Season 1. I used that player as a Wild Card.
I did have all 5 or so players spread across 3 different squads last season but I deleted every squad and started new. The weird thing is, after deleting, it allowed me to sell the other players that were on that squad except for these few.
I rarely play online and haven't played Mini Seasons in a very long time. I have reached out and reported it as a bug. I just can't figure out why it will not recognize that these players are not in use anywhere.

@RobzillaDaGreat this issue has popped up time and time again this season and there’s a couple of fellas on here who have been able to help a high percentage of them to get this resolved although I’ve certainly never been one of them haha but I thought I’d try. I’m nearly certain that one of them will eventually see this and show up with some of their ingenious suggestions so hang on to that as hope for now and keep checking back. Please stay with it and keep us updated as I’m very confident that you’ll have this resolved within the next day or two. Maybe in the meantime post as much info as you can to give them the clues that may be needed in order to solve it no matter how trivial it might seem because it’s often one of those seemingly insignificant details that points directly to the problem to someone more knowledgeable. You might even take a minute and put the list of the cards that you’re not able to sell on here and maybe they’ll see a pattern that we’re overlooking.
I’m sure you’ve probably already tried this but maybe do an advanced search in this forum where you filter it down to answers that have been given in just the last few months or year thataways you can filter out previous editions of the game. I distinctly remember one in the last few months it seems like where this happened and it wasn’t the usual things like what Sam and I have suggested. Might’ve even been a showdown squad or something absurd like that but it escapes me for now. I’ll try and search it out also.
I’m very confident you’ll get this figured out pretty soon I hope but this might at least make the time pass a little faster while you wait for your bug report to be answered. I wish you the best of luck just keep digging

The only odd thing that really happened was the day before Season 5 launch I played an online Event game and in the 7th inning an Internet connection glitch happened (unsure if it was my end or my opponent) that caused the game to end and give me the win even though I was losing. I feel like that happens a lot though.
The next day Season 5 started and I deleted my Diamond Dynasty squads that were ineligible for the new season. Some of the cards I'm trying to sell were on that squad. But only some won't sell. I've sold the others. Also, the players that are "in use" and cannot be sold were spread across 3 different squads.

Hey do you have any showdowns that you may have started at some point earlier and have yet to complete? I was thinking they could be sitting in a lineup waiting on continuation and fouling things up. I’m grasping here
I was thinking of the mini seasons as well it might be interesting to see if there’s a list online somewhere for all the different mini seasons that have occurred so far this year to see if those players that you listed are used in it. Or how about single player online mode Battle Royale have you ever started one of those and maybe drafted a team but haven’t completed it or maybe formed a team for ranked solo that you’ve not been back to for a bit. Might be worth it to load up those modes just to see maybe worth it just to mark them off the list

Yeah, some of the cards were recent additions to my squad before Season 5 just started. I know I haven't done a Battle Royal event and just to be sure I played a Ranked game today and they are nowhere in the lineup. I have played Showdowns in the past but I do not recall the right-handed one. I have no open Showdowns. I checked that. Hopefully I will find something out after submitting a ticket.

My money would be on the Mini Seasons Righty Tighty because others have had the same issue and all of the players you can’t sell are right handed.
