If they are going to have multiple 97-99s for each player, then at least have them be for different teams. It’s bizarre there are two 99 Nolan Ryan’s for the Astros and 0 for the Angels.
I suppose they are worried about next year because if every player gets a 99 for every team they played for this year, then next year will be identical to this year. Therefore, next year, we can look forward to two Angel 99 Nolan Ryan’s and 0 Astros.

The rule is, once a player has a card released, they can never release another one that’s a lower overall.
You want to drop 99 Trout day 1? Then I don’t want to see any 95s, 97s, etc.
There’s plenty of other players they can choose from. If they want to release silvers, golds, they shouldn’t be of someone that has a higher overall card. Those cards can go to some lesser known players if need be.
So they can’t release a rookie Trout later in the season or random RP Trout.

Why not ranger 99’s? He’s better known for the rangers since her threw most of his no hitters there and got in the ventura fight

Only way this would work is if they waited to release 99s. Start off like they did last year with Silvers, Golds, and low Diamonds as rewards and release 99s later on the year. Then you'll have people complaining that they can't get a 99 of someone until they're done playing the game.
It can work with the same setup as now, they just need to ditch the expiring BS.
While ot may work if they get rid of the expiring cards; you really think people would still grind for 97s when they already have 99s of those same players?
That's why implementing 99s off the bat was a bad idea.

The majority of Ryan’s no-hitters came as an Angel…4 of them in 3 seasons I believe 73-75 or maybe 74-76. I do love the Ventura beat down and would be happy to see him as a Ranger too!

You are correct. 2 within a month in 1973 then 1 in 1974 and 1975. Then 1 with Houston and 2 with Texas. Not sure how he’d think a majority came as a Ranger where he only pitched 5 years.

I don't think that was ever a rule... this year was clearly different with them doing seasons... we won't be able to use all sets until Dec/Jan when Season 6 arrives and we'd also have to look at the cards side by side and through the overall away and see what the attributes are for the categories that matter... you never know the 97 Trout might be better than both 99 Trout cards... but you won't know that until you use the card(s) or at minimum compare the key attributes.

I'm good with him getting a 99 Rangers and Angels. It's better than two 99 Astro cards. I didn't include Rangers because his 95 captain is a Rangers card. It all just feels redundant and Nolan is just one example.

That’s a good point. i wouldn’t mind an angels card either.

It was obviously never a rule. It’s a suggestion to make DD better.
