I remember the good old days too when Rookie level meant crappy fastballs 95% of the time. I don't like that CPU pitchers on Rookie are dotting offspeed pitches when behind in the count, but if you're going to do that, then don't give me a PCI that can't get to it. There's nothing more frustrating than recognizing a pitch in the strikzone and then not being able to hit it hard because the PCI literally can't get to it

When they introduced pxp and "competitive difficulties".
Now when you play a conquest game on rookie, you are really playing rookie "competitive", where the rookie cpu pitcher will still tunnel pitch, dot corners, throw a bunch of balls, and your pci will need to be prestine to get the HRs, XBHs, or the runs, you need to complete your current missions .
It's still very doable, but it's just another way this game has shifted- it's a clear tactic to try to maximize your time online, in hopes for more microtransactions. I just want to play the game the way I want... why are we always forced to do dumbas chores? Can't we just "play the game our way". Please.
I remember a few years ago, on rookie, in conquest, I (a regular player), would have a contest- "who could hit the most homeruns in my lineup". I would smash the cpu 30-0 on rookie. Now, it's obviously still easy, but it's 9-0 in a 3 inning game. Forcing tou to stay online, in diamond dynasty, jusy a little longer. Maybe these tactics work for kids, but it's tiring for adults, and shame on you.
I want to smash the cpu on rookie (like a rookie), and get back to my favorite features of this incredible game!
Stop wasting our time, especially those of us who are still playing your game in August.
Edit: before the trolls say "git gud". It's not a difficulty complaint, it's again, a stop wasting our time with your bs "always online", "maximum monetization" tacits.
i hear you mate - maximum engagement is a term being loosely thrown around a lot these days - in many genres of games too - the 'battle pass' COD / blizzard style - mind numbing grinds for mostly cosmetic rewards - state of the gaming industry these days !!! i still have my old systems in the basement TV if i ever want to get nostalgic and play Ken Griffey Jr's Winning Run on SNES
Haha cheers bud. I still play ncaa 14 on my 360. My sons old enough now that we are playing my old GameCube together. Backyard baseball, Mario sunshine, NHL hitz, it's been nice.

I have checked in with Tex the last couple days and he seems to be getting better and hopefully back soon. As maddening as this game can be which can lead to chaos on this forum, the best part for me as I wouldn’t have met guys like Tex, Arvcpa, Blind_Bleeder, Ericulous, etc. if it wasn’t for the game. All great dudes I consider friends.
