Why isn’t Valenzuela boosted by Captain Pedro?

Maybe I’m reading it wrong, but I thought Captain Pedro boosted pitchers who pitched in the 90’s, and Valenzuela pitched in the 90’s. Any idea why he isn’t getting the boost?

Hey there!
The decade-based captains reference the year in which the card represents. For Valenzuela, his card is for his age 20 season, which happened in 1981. Therefore, because his card represents his 1981 season, he does not qualify for the 90's captain boost.
You can always cross-reference the age of the player on the card with the year in which it happened, to see if they qualify for decade-based captain boosts.

El Toro was one of my favs. He could hit extremely well too. If I remember it right he had some decent numbers as a pinch hitter he hit well over .300 in that particular role…he wasn’t afraid to go yard either!

I think I was the PEDs that helped that one of his make it over. Haha seriously I came across his name in an article the other day about him getting popped on a test back when lol and had forgotten all about it

That Pedro card is extremely limited maybe SDS should consider expanding it to players that played in the 90s.
