After a few years of trying to reason with a video game, I've made my peace with the Show.
How can infielders make insane diving stops and throws?
    It's a video game.
How can Dumpy Pants Kyle Schwarber track a ball 300ft against the shift and make the catch?
    It's a video game.
    Contact Swing?
    Yep. It's a video game.
SDS needs to make a game every year for the players between Spring Training level and Championship Series.
The World Series guys are a totally different league. I could never be that good-- too much time to practice and reach that level.

So I'm treating the game for what it is.
No different than GTA or Red Dead or Spiderman-- its exaggerated reality.

Find peace with me, my friends!

    Namaste...

    Namaste to you as well!

You might just be on to something here lol. Love me some Red Dead 2 (story mode, of course) I’ve sure wasted a nice chunk of my reality there and a great deal of which was exaggerated…as well as exasperated!

You didn't love the Griefers online? Lol. That was rough back then! I never finished the story and had the game day 1!

I got 100 completion on it thought it took me about six months. I waded in online to see what it was like, hoping to achieve the platinum trophy, but it only took seeing all those different currencies to realize I didn’t want anything at all to do with it lol

I'll probably finish a full season on franchise, without simming, on this for 100% before I complete RDR2.

On a different note, there's a mode beyond story in RDR 2?

The problem is SDS going WAY overboard with all these special cards with attributes based on absolutely nothing.

All of those fantasy land cards have destroyed the game. We used to actually put a little effort in to the game to acquire a high end roster. Now, we just have to load the game and you can get a full roster of 97s.

I have zero shame in admitting I would’ve never managed it without the help of a guide. Nevaaaaah! Not even a chance brother.

I wonder if some of these streamer personalities have ever done a good study as to how much advantage can be gained with a 99 team vs a 97 or even a 95? Then again if these guys are truly putting in the kinds of hours that have been claimed on this forum, I would think it wouldn’t matter how terrible their team was (especially if they played me) because they’d still be able to win.

I bring this up because I’d almost swear the two highest scoring teams that I’ve personally ever put together were a couple of program teams, one of which being the April POTM and the other (granted, after all was said and done) was my Future Stars team. Yes, these teams only had to face the CPU teams but they were still noticeably better at scoring runs than any of my little ‘g’ god squads…at least with me at the helm anywho!

Pertaining to online I can just say that I play a certain style of game…a philosophy of play really, that just isn’t conducive to winning online…or even competing for that matter haha. For one, I only pause a game to warm up a pitcher or swap a batter and then I get back asap. I also make sure and keep the ball in the strike zone unless I miss, which might happen 2-3 times per game…preferring to use speed and location changes within the zone and inducing weak contact as my strategy (it really is more fun to play defense). I see all sorts of posts on here complaining due to what they’ve dubbed as ‘bunting cheesers’ while in literally the same breath shamelessly bragging about throwing every pitch in the dirt! If I’m a programmer in this game, and a player has went 8AB without seeing a strike, then I’m placing in a provision that will increase (or even auto generate) the batters ‘bad ball outlier’ such that, when contact IS finally made, that the ball flies over the fence no matter what. I sometime wonder to me self if this is the answer to those who complain about this issue. You never know?

Seriously, think about it, what’s more realistic, seeing a game where a pitcher gets 17Ks despite never throwing a ball in the strike zone, or someone trying to bunt their way onto base because they’ve not gotten close to a single hit? Neither case appeals to me, not at all, but then when you add in all these other cheats and exploits that people are doing it just doesn’t sound fun….to me. This is my take on it and mine alone and I’m not claiming that my way is even remotely correct (it just works for ME), and to be truthful, I actually admire any (and all, really) of y’all who have the patience and the discipline to endure this, alas, i simply don’t have it. However I understand that, when in a competition, if you really want to win then there are several paths to get there…and to the victor goes the spoils.

PS I was unfair in my bunting example…I’ve no wish to defend this tactic, especially when abused all game long by someone so I apologize for that. I think they both (when abused) equally constitute a poor showing when going against a human opponent. However I’m not opposed to using it against the cpu in a showdown scenario, although I’ve yet to try the tactic.

I made peace with the game by not buying it this year.

I logged in after thinking about why we don’t get it for free on PS+... It should be at some point, they’d surely make it up by selling stubs.
