So every time I go to pinch hit for my catcher ( cause he is [censored] ) it tells me that his sub is out of place on the other side of the ball. But when I go to put said pitchers back in he is gone from my roster.... Is this a glitch? TIA

When you pinch hit for a player, that player is out. The player you put in replaces the player you took out. If you’re playing a version before 23 and you pinch hit for the pitcher, you have to put in a new pitcher. In 23 the pitcher spot is now the DH because the pitcher no longer hits (universal DH rule). If you swap a player in your lineup to the DH spot, you lose the DH and the pitcher then hits in that spot.

    https://www.mlb.com/glossary/rules/designated-hitter-rule

If you PH for your catcher, a new player must take his place. It can be either the player who PH for him, or another player.

I hope I understood your question correctly. I have not had any glitches when pinch hitting. The game follows the rule as it should.

You either have to pinch hit with another catcher, or with anyone else and then replace them in the field with a catcher. Just like real life, if the Phillies pinch hit for Realmuto with Trea Turner, Realmuto is out of the game, Turner is the new catcher (which I don’t think he’s ever played at the MLB level). So you would replace Turner with the backup catcher or enjoy watching Trea behind the dish.

Once any player is replaced, they are out of the game and whoever replaced them takes their place.

I got a ribby double with Woodruff when I lost my DH once. It was on Veteran but it was cool!

I'm not afraid of losing my DH if I have to. Some of the pitchers still have some good hitting attributes.

True. I play offline, but I've hit incredibly well with pitchers for some reason.
I've pinch ran for my DH and kept it every time.

DH can be substituted, either hitting or running.the new player becomes the DH.
You can't move the DH to the field or you lose the DH spot, ie. backup catcher is DH, catcher takes a foul ball off the face and leaves with concussion protocol, you have no other catchers so the backup has to move from DH to catcher, you would then lose the DH spot .

Ahhh so only the DH can be subbed and then return to the game?

No. Whoever is subbed is out. The position of DH remains (unless you move someone already in the batting lineup into the DH spot), but the person replaced cannot be used for the rest of the game. And any position can be subbed.

Any position player can be replaced at any time.
A DH can be pinch hit or pinch run for and the pinch hitter / runner becomes the DH.
If you move the DH to a position ( like second base) no more DH and the pitcher(s) will bat.

Wow...okay. If you pinch hit for your catcher you should make sure you are selecting a catcher or that you have another catcher still in the field or on your bench. Unless you are doing a franchise with DH off there should be no reason to be changing your pitcher.
