I kinda want the ratings to work different

I want every player to feel more individual, like a guy like ichiro would really bust it out of the box for infield singles, maybe a perk to where certain guys with 125 power just absolutely crush balls instead of flying out to the warning track on perfects. I like that players have their own swings for the most part, but sometimes they push players outside of who they are to fit the meta for the game. Like John Donaldson, can't convince me he even sniffed 100 back then. A 96 mph slider and 104 mph fastball? If they just made it so guys who throw slower were more accurate and pitches moved more people would actually use them. Every sports game balances the stats horribly and instead of just actually working on the game and doing balancing patches they just cater to whatever the meta is so people spend money on cards. Like if a card came out tomorrow with 125 contact both sides with 40 power nobody would use it, when that card should be really good at getting on base, when in reality you're gonna square balls up and line out every other at bat.

I miss the 99 Omar Vizquel

I mean Donaldon's MVP year...41 doubles, 41 HR, 123 RBI, OPS .939, .297 avg, I cant seem to find defensive stas to support this but I have the eye test from that season and he was outstanding as I recall. I think he's one of the few guys who earned his rating, it was as complete single season as you'd find in the modern era. Just my opinion, with respect.

Different Donaldson.

I agree. I came into this year with intentions of running a small ball speed team because every year it’s all about power… another release and of course it’s all about power again. I ran the set 3 all star Dee Gordon on RS for a few days, and mostly everyone would switch to bunt defense immediately. A guy with 125 contact on both lol really shows the state of the game when everyone thinks you’re going to bunt with a guy because he has low power.

I don't understand how someone has a Diamond offensive rating but doesn't have a single offensive stat over 85. How does that equate to Diamond?

JoHn Donaldson, 2 way player from the Negro League.

The attribute ratings have completely changed from at least, attempting to provide each player with a realistic set of attributes to total fantasy BS IMO.
The game has become watered down with all these 97-99 cards with unrealistic attributes.

When I played with J. Donaldson the other day I felt like i possessed the heater of Randy Johnson, the slider of Dave Steib, Orel Hershiser’s sinkerball, a slurve like Kerry wood had on his 20k game, and Dave Stewart’s forkball…and let’s not even talk about his batting, baserunning and fielding haha
What was the x-man movie where wolverine was at that nuclear power cooling tower? He was fighting this chimeric mutant with all the best powers…that’s John Donaldson on this game!

It has nothing to do with low power and everything to do with his 99 bunt ratings and 99 speed.

Ichiro needs a comeback on this game, probably my favorite card to ever use
