Imagine spending your entire day cutting down other people and defending a video game until no end. These guys don’t get it trust me. It’s literally the same clowns piling on and trying to bully anyone they disagree with it. Too bad SDS don’t give a [censored] and can’t even moderate their own forums.

Imagine spending 390 hours playing a video game you think is "broken" "rigged" "garbage" and is made by a "money sucking" company.

I don’t get this argument. I’ve earned tons of players that are more than usable online. Sure the 99s are mostly in packs, but not at all of them. And you don’t even need 99s to compete. You can run a full squad of 95-97s and compete with anyone.

I agree that making stubbs is harder this year than in years past. Looking at hat they have put out in set 3, so far, tells me that they aren't EA or 2K with their pay to win.
They seem to read this forum. Look at the Charisma program. They didn't add a way to circumvent the showdown and finish past halfway. We collectively complained on here and they changed it. It was the right thing to do, so they did it. They did it quietly, probably so the entire community didn't demand everything be immediately fixed. They still have <50 employees, or something like that.
Every year they make small improvements based on our feedback. RTTS was changeddrastically a couple years ago and people complained the new system completely took away from the old system. They didn't change it back to the original, but added the ability for multiple players and dynamic perks. I actually thought the new system was better, because you could still do the old system in franchise mode. That's irrelevant to this post though. The point is they are constantly trying new things to make it a better, more versatile game.
Are they trying new ways to make money, yes. They have to pay the bills and can no longer exist on game sales on a product that hasn't had a major price change since the 80s. We bought games for $50 in 1989. I think they are doing an admirable job not going overboard. There still is no second currency. Have you been in an EA or 2K shop lately? No packs you can only buy with gold. That means it's grind or buy, not grind or get good. Getting good just means a faster grind.

Well it didn’t take long to see this whole “Set Specific Season” GARBAGE was exactly what I feared. Like 2k, TheShow has went the way of the “Money Suck” business model. Drain em’ for every penny you can and give them items that will be essentially USELESS (at least in Ranked Seasons) in a month! [censored] shame! I really appreciated that in years past SD Studio had for the most part kept the option to earn solid players that u could use all year. Never thought they would go this route, it’s a [censored] shame... Each year raising stubs just a bit here and there and then……BOOM! Gotcha Mother!$“?$!s with the release of this game model. Still love playing the game. Just seems as every game developer out there now is fully committed to this style of $$$$$ above all else. lol! Remember when you bought a game in one transaction, with no need to drop another 2 or 300 bucks to access to all it had to offer! And don’t give me that, Git Good or Grind it out Bro BS… ya’ll with your afk scripts and trash. LOL
Say's the guy who plays at two created stadiums:
Donald J. Trump Field, and Biden Sucks Field.
Yet, Has a problem with a company trying to make more money. LOL

I’ve got most of the good cards and haven’t spent a dime over the $100 I paid for the game. And I suck and don’t play online. Moral of the story, stop writing forum rants and just flip cards. Boom I’m gonna buy Elly for funsies right now.
Can't wait to add both of Vlad Jr and Arozarena to my team, those cards are going to be nuts.
-
I agree that it’s probably more money hungry this year but nowhere near compared to 2K. It’s way easier to earn free cards here and 2K requires VC on nearly everything including my career to level your player up.

I've been slowly widdling them down, I report them to their ISP when I find stuff. Alot of these SDS defenders have the same predilection as a Chris Hansen target.

I like when they compare this company with what I’ve been told is 47 employees to in this case 2K Sport with ~1200 employees. It’s better when it’s EA Sports because they have ~13,000 employees. These guys are miracle workers compared to them.
Yeah, but EA and 2K don't torture their customers with Ashley.

So this really isn't so much about pay to play and more likely that he thought he could use his Trump Bucks as currency to pay for stubs. OP should submit a ticket to see if SDS will allow him to use his NFT collection in lieu Set 3.

O oops laughing at myself I’m such a moron! And your right they all about piling on….each other! Monkey Pox spreaders by night ! And during the day, rough n tough internet trolls. This is rant #2 slapnuts -
I don't get these rants. MLB is literally the easiest game of all Sports games to go no money spent and have absolutely every card.
-
I haven't spent a dime other than buying the game this year, and still feel like I have a good team and no worries playing H2H with my squad. I will say though... they definitely did change direction this year with how the collections and top cards are distributed. Unfortunately it's the new model for most video games today to urge users to spend money on content. This game used to be much easier to aquire any cards you want without spending at all and it's definitely not this year. It has been more time consuming to earn stubs and most of the top end cards are only available in packs, and cost 100k+ to buy them in the marketplace. I don't blame them at all wanting to make max profit, and that's what any successful business should be doing. This game is still much less of a cash grab than Madden.

There has always been two ways to get cards in this game. Time or Money.
But there is little doubt that this year that they have changed their approach and it now takes even more time or even more money.
There have been 27 Duo packs which means that 54 99 overall diamonds have been locked in packs. In that time we have had 15 (?) 99 overalls introduced through the Xp program. The vast majority of the remaining 99's are collection rewards, which I am guessing most players never complete. So this leads people to come to the conclusion, rightfully so, that SDS/Sony is getting greedier.
Then there are the reduced stub payouts across the board. The current weekly wonders has no stub rewards. It is, I believe, made up of no sale equipment, one regular pack and one Duos pack. So stubs are reliant on pack luck. Then at some point this season they decided that the break even point in showdowns needed to be after you defeat six bosses when before that it was after four bosses. Guaranteeing that more people lose stubs playing these.
So, neither side in this debate is wrong. You can still get most of everything for free but that will require a lot of time playing the game, some time flipping or investing in cards is probably needed as well. But on the flip side those who do not have that kind of time or devotion are actually having a harder time earning cards than they have in the past.
It's a matter of which perspective you view this situation from.

Yes for me the lack of stubs earned and the lack of choice packs available in programs prior to all star one is disappointing
No reason the weekly wonder packs can’t have a choice pack at the end
