That’s part of the fun haha heck the only perfect game ever in a World Series was thrown by Don Larsen probably one of the most unlikely players to have ever done so and he’s still riding the fame he won on that particular day. The stars have to align and the ball has to fall the right way every pitch for nine innings it’s truly a magnificent accomplishment and now he can take his place in baseball immortality. I believe that was only the twenty fifth perfect game that’s been pitched and when you consider how many games have been played in that amount of time it’s mind boggling

I wouldn't say they're scrubs. Not top tier All-Star talent, but they could hang.Dallas Braden was a really solid pitcher who could have had long and successful career if he didn't have a completely destroyed arm because of injuries. No way a scrub.

Braden was 26-36, 4.16 ERA
Humber was 16-23, 5.31 ERAGerman is a scrub of a human being but take away 18-4 and 31-26 is glaringly bad with his stunningly awful 4.40 ERA and I’d rather not get into more detailed stats in this forum.

You make a good point and especially about the A’s. They certainly stink this year like Pepe le Pew (on loan from over on that french thread), but they’ve got a solid record when it comes to this aspect.
The A’s hadn’t been no hit since 1991 (over 5000 games) and the last perfect game thrown against them was in 1904 when they were the Philadelphia Athletics…by none other than Cy Young.
Perfect games are something truly rare to enjoy about our beloved game of baseball
