Showdown seems to feel like pulling a slot machine. I know results are never guaranteed but the amount of PP fly balls and ground outs are sky high and conversely I’ve hit numerous off PCI no doubt HRs. It makes the mode extremely inconsistent, frustrating, and borderline unplayable. I’m glad they at least give us the option of grinding repeatable missions to avoid showdowns but I’m just disappointed as showdown could be a decently fun mode if it played a bit more like the other game modes.

My biggest complaint about showdowns, and I am still pretty new to them is the fact that AI defense is massively overpowered. Non stop super dive, players that in real life are not good defenders making plays Ozzie Smith only dreams about, or players that constantly fire cannon shots from the outfield stronger than Clemente and Dawson combined, and they NEVER miss the target.

Yeah I hate the AI defence…guys with 20/30 speed ratings chasing down gappers falling faster than OceanGate’s stock…it’s actually the same in mini seasons. I’m tired of squaring up pitches and watching the AI defence dive ten feet to get it

I have to think that the Superman defense is largely programmed into the game, heavier in showdowns, as a way to kill rallies and minimize offense because when players do hit the ball it is often a HR. This year is better balanced than past years but still feel like showdown mode feels like a completely different game. Just finished the future stars program and because showdown was a no go I had to grind out an extra 10,000 pxp.

Showdown is pretty laughable,it should be its own difficulty setting in my opinion.. There is no rhyme or reason for some of the things the A.I will do, for example I love when I've taken 5or 8 pitches in a row and there still throwing balls trying to nip the corners SMH. Than on top of that the amount of balls I think I hit perfect or [censored] close that my bat acts like a wet noodle, or hitting at every fielder for 10 outs in a row

Completely agree. Every time I give it a go I instantly regret my decision.
