As the title asks- You have a favorite player in real life but suck with him in the game- what do you typically do?

I’m having a hard time hitting with one of my favorite players of all time - 99 Correa- who I have and is non sellable - so can’t do anything about that besides bench him. Makes me wish I went w G Cole for RS Reward.

I absolutely love Yordan in real life but can’t hit for anything with him in this game. Literally batting .100 after like 80+ AB’s. I could make some solid stubs w him but I feel so wrong selling one of my absolute favorite real life players lol. But i also don’t set collect any players that can sell for 100K+ to leave me the ability to sell them and get someone new. I’m sure I can hit with someone way better in that DH spot, it just sucks that I’m having a hard time with him specifically.

Also- struggling with 99 Mickey mantle hitting only about .200 with him but his fielding covering centerfield is just immaculate and love he’s a switch hitting CF. Could sell him rn for 400k stubs but man it would just suck to sell him cause I’m having a hard time hitting with him. Wish there was a practice mode where we could use the actual DD cards to help time their swings.

Any tips or tricks you guys recommend to help with “practicing” to improve swings? Thanks

I use them until I am good with them. Figure out what pitches/pitch locations seem to be giving you trouble with certain players.

I’ve also noticed that playing people online, they tend to pitch certain guys similarly. Like guys who crowd the plate, they tend to try to jam you inside, so sit inside and wait for it.

Another tip would be moving them around in the batting order. Sometimes I find myself pressing with certain guys and dropping them down into the 8-9 hole can take some of the pressure off. I can assure you it’s all mental. You can get good with anyone but if you’re try too hard because you want to raise their average or whatever, it’s only going to make it worse.

Who do you hit well with? I ask because swings play differently for different people and so if Correa/Yordan are outliers and you hit 300+ with others then ultimately it might just be a card thing. But if you’re generally 240 hitter then the variances isn’t “that” big and I’d say keep trying.

Mays is my favorite player and so after a few years I can now hit right around 300 with him as people generally pitch him inside and so I look for that. But Rickey Henderson who is another favorite is just someone I’ll use offline generally as I just can’t make his swing work.

So basically my answer is it depends on how big the gap is and whether it’s something you want to work at as some swings definitely take time.

Is it all versions of Correa or just this version of Correa? If it’s all versions I’d go blast a bunch of homeruns with him in homerun derby. Boost your confidence with him by jacking a bunch of 450 foot bombs at some high altitude stadium you can download. It could just be in your head after all.

You have to just not use them. I love Aaron Judge but it’s not worth the frustration of trying to cover that much strike zone with 54 vision lol.
