I hope this doesn't come off as too whiny, but it seems like the last 6 or 7 games every single online player wants to just throw the ball the second they get it back.

I have tried calling time outs, I have tried pausing, I have tried returning the favor to them, but they all have acted like if they didn't get through a 9 inning game in 5 minutes something horrible was going to happen to them.

I know it's my job to be ready at the plate, but this particular length of the same type of player is kind of frustrating. I have had "some" success, picking up 3 or 4 wins, but are there any other options I have missed that I can use short of getting a microphone and saying "SLOW DOWN"?

I don't like to use the talk option because I am slowly getting better, but I still am pretty bad at hitting, and it's more because I get mad at myself more than the other player and I want to avoid any misunderstandings, plus some of the guys in the 2020 version are super toxic.

Hello, I can’t speak for anyone else, but I will say this: I often wonder if my opponents feel this frustration towards me. Often times I find myself falling into a rhythm of catch it, throw it, catch it, throw it without really thinking about it. It’s not intentional per say and I certainly don’t do it to try to get any kind of advantage, it just happens. I think it may be partially from my childhood when I played baseball from little league through HS ball, as a pitcher the main thing I remember coaches telling me was “work quickly and throw strikes.” As far as what to do, use time out and pause and for me a chat if u r on Xbox asking me to slow down would not bother me at all. This might not be much in the way of a solution, but I hope it lets you know that we all aren’t 12 year olds trying to [censored] you off. I actually have grand kids older than 12 and have seen more games at Fulton county stadium than turner and Truist combined/I’m old as f**k. Hehe. Good Luck out there!

I think that's part of it. I think part of it is that they play conquest mode like this all the time and it just carries over.

I am not accusing any of these guys of cheesing, because that is usually very obvious. It's just an odd and for me unpleasant streak of sorts. It's still better than a run of bunt cheesers.

I can speak for the fact that if I’ve had to do a ton of grinding offline i forget sometimes I’m playing an opponent, and may quick pitch like the computer for an inning or two until my realizes that I’m not facing the cpu.

Legitimately never understood the issue with working fast in online play. Spotting the pitch and going through the wind up (or the stretch) throwing immediately still gives you WAY more than enough time to efficiently hit. Real life, yeah….working fast most times can be an advantage. But how much time do you really need to react to a pitch in a video game?

Well, as I stated before, I know it's my job to be ready for the pitch, but when the pitch is taken for a ball/strike, and the screen shifts back to the pitcher, and he is already in the windup I think that's a bit much don't you?

I don't expect him to wait 5 seconds between pitches, and if I have a speedy runner on I almost expect him to change delivery to throw me off, but every single pitch in about 1 second time from screen loading for 7 straight games was a bit much.

I am guilty of this as I usually play offline and only do online randomly. I'll get to about the 4th or 5th inning and go "oh [censored]!" Because I realize I've been pitching faster than I should.

If you step off the plate a few times and then take a deliberate time pitching he may slow the next inning. If he doesn't he is either oblivious or doesn't care. Not much you can do about it other than beat him.
