They were long and time consuming, but at least the Immortals stat grinds got you the best cards in the game, and they didn't expire.

I didn’t play them, so I guess I am lucky I got to enjoy 21.

21 was my first year. Based on the 22 grind and definitely the 23 grind (so far), I believe I was spoiled.

I have no issue with them being on the long side.
But…when you make them long AND you put a deadline on when the cards can be used (Sets)…then I think that’s a problem.

No pitchers to gobble up PXP. That was the only problem with the Father's Day Program.
It was supposed to last anyway, so many can play and or finish ON Father's Day, you boobs! -

I do remember.
I quit playing the game that year before the end of May when I realized that there was no way I would get to those numbers.
They will never please everyone but they should be trying to strike a balance between too short and too long. I would not say any of them this season are too long but there are a lot more of them with a bunch of cumulative PXP missions that can take a lot of time.
Your "solid day of grinding" might be a solid week of grinding for someone who has limited play time every week.

I agree with most of the comments on this thread. I think a lot of people who complain on these forums do not necessarily have a problem with long grinds. They have a problem when they are long grinds, time limited cards, and far from top end cards. It just makes the grind much less worth it. Even if I can complete a program in a day, I would rather just play the modes I prefer, than get cards that will just go in a binder.

Was that the “Immortals” program? I remember my first time playing MLB there was program that had ALOT of things do, and not truly understanding the gravity of it all, I still looked at that as too much to do. I think Yogi Berra was one of the immortals.

Yes & No…While the cards in programs are often sub par - They go into collections for the best cards. So yeah, The cards you’re rewarded with right away are mid but they help you inch closer to the Chippers, Randys, ect.

In all honesty if it takes you a week to get in 5 or 6 hours of grinding then you probably should be playing a different mode such as Regs or Franchise. DD is clearly designed for players that have a descent amount of time to play & it’s ok if it’s not for everyone.

And for you that may be worth it, but for many the grind is just not worth it to continually be grinding for just a few collection cards. I would rather spend my time playing the modes I enjoy and buying a card here and there off the market. I mean are collection rewards really that much better than 99’s you can get off the market this year? I easily get one or two of the set collections each season, but to constantly grind these programs seems pointless to me. Again, I realize people like you feel different and this is just my opinion.

The fact of the matter is that the overwhelming majority of people who play DD probably never finish any of the major collections (I would love to see the stats on the % of players that complete them). To those people the rewards in the program are the reason to play the program. They don't use them as a mere stepping stone for something bigger.

I don't know if I can articulate this properly, but in years past the collections felt like a bonus after going through the content. I didn't play very long last year but I did get George Brett (1st collection) and those cards came from a variety of programs that never once felt anywhere near as boring/dull as this year's programs.
This year the collection feels like the only reason to sludge through the exact same programs every week or two (honestly, they're exactly the same with different names - moments, conquest, showdown, pxp).
"10 more cards for the collection" is not a compliment. It's a sign the content sucks.
