6 sets are in the in-game market filter.

well the nick ahmed argument goes a bit like this....they have to give some teams someone and they couldn't figure out how to do a 97 Randy Johnson

99's at launch, 99's months later...meh, doesn't matter. The game is still one of collecting hundreds of cards you don't care about and will likely never use to unlock the handful that everyone wants and everyone uses.

FFS, if they're going to "force" us to collect all these cards we won't use, at least give us a cool UI/binder system instead of the same washed-out junior high power point slides and an enormous "SET xyz" collection dumpster that's only rivaled by the FA dumpster in the LS collection...

    Totally agree

its the same as launch day and since they are doing sets, it makes sense. even if you dont like it. No longer do cards start at 90 and go up each "inning"

Yes, I miss the binder system. Set 1 has great collections but for us nerdy collectors it’s poorly laid out.

I don't mind it. I think we get too caught up in overall ratings sometimes, there are plenty of 97 cards that are still great. Its the other ratings that really matter. Plus just parallel them a couple times and you basically have a 99 anyway.

Lots of 99's have huge flaws (power, speed, fielding, reaction). Different positions weigh different attributes...differently. Lots of 97's are better than these "flawed 99's."

There are some 99 overall Charisma cards... just not the ones in Team Affinity... I'd imagine the same thing will happen with Incognito... the TA Incognito cards will be 97s, the ones from Incognito series will vary 90-95 and then we'll have reward cards for Ranked, BR, Events, Collections, etc that will be 98-99.

So…the great argument some of you are now desperately clinging to is that some 97s are better than some 99s…?

    Wow…how strategically interesting.🙄

So we get to choose from 97s or 99s…how diverse. Really makes you use your brain to build a roster and play the game.🤦‍♂️

Don’t get too worked up over the #. I’m sure you’ll find plenty of 97s that play better for you than some of the 99s available

My question is why are the captains still 92s, who wants to use a 92 when we have all these 99s.

It allows for more strategy. Boosted captain cards can encourage you to tinker with your lineup. I am happy to use a 92 captain card since it makes other players better. It also means you will probably face different teams with different lineup strategies.

Because if you field a team that fits a captain, that captain will make that team better... I wouldn't personally force myself to field a team full of Mets but if I can get Charisma Jeff McNeil (2B), Daniel Vogelbach (DH), Future Stars Francisco Alvarez (C), Brett Baty (3B), Topps Now Brandon Nimmo (CF) and WBC Francisco Lindor (SS) all on the field why not plug in TA1 Captain Pete Alonso at First Base and then move Baty to LF (which I believe is his secondary) if I want to plug in a David Wright card at 3B.

    but here is the problem.....

no one is using them in ranked. its the same dang lineups. SDS can try all they want to push the captains, but until they allow the captains to boost ALL players that play for that certain team and not just the live series, nothing will change.

TA Captains boost all hitters/pitchers, not just live series... for example when I use TA1 Captain Pete Alonso he boost - Captain David Wright, Future Stars Francisco Alvarez & Brett Baty, Topps Now Brandon Nimmo, Charisma Jeff McNeil and Daniel Vogelbach, WBC Francisco Lindor and any other set 1 Mets hitters like Rookie David Wright. The only exception for obvious reasons would be WBC Pete Alonso since you can't use multiple cards of the same player... only the Live Series collection captains boost Live Series Only.
