Players still Currently in Use

I am trying to sell my Francisco Alvarez future Stars card and have taken him out of all my lineups and don’t have any events or anything active but yet when I go to sell him it says he’s still in use. How do I fix it?

Mini seasons, or did you collect it for set one?

Its events. Not a such thing as "active event". If there is an event, there will be an auto generated lineup for it.

May not be the same thing, but I've had it happen twice to me so far; after I'd searched all lineups, I ended up putting the card I wanted to sell back into the lineup of my main squad, then removed it, and I was able to sell after that...
