Mexico City Showdown

Best advice I can give, skip the Tyler Rogers showdown and go straight to Nick Martinez. Hell, just skip the last two showdowns. I scored 6 runs with 13 outs left, if my sorry a$$ can do it y’all can too. I’m a very impatient hitter so it took me about 8 times to complete. What’s y’all’s secret to being patient in these showdowns?

Secret - don't swing until you have 2 strikes, no matter how juicy the changeup down the middle looks

Decided to give this a try so I could finish the Mexico City program. I was extremely patient, didn’t even think of swinging until I got a strike on each of the Showdowns. Finished all before the Rogers showdown, fairly straightforward.
Decide to skip that one, so go into final Martinez showdown down by 5
Again, extremely patient, no swinging until a strike was thrown. Get down to 1 out remaining tied at 15. Pete Alonso, with two strikes, smokes one off the wall. (Thank you “Down but not out” perk)
Soto comes up next. On a 2-2 count, he smashes a ground ball to first base. I groan out loud, game over. All this way for nothing. The ball literally goes thru the guys legs (ala Keith Hernandez).
I win 16-15. Thank you, SDS for GIVING me that showdown!! No complaints from me today. None whatsoever.

Showdowns usually don't give me too much trouble. If I don't beat them the first time, it usually doesn't take me more than a couple of tries. This one is annoying and I do good just to get to the Rogers showdown. I guess I'll give it another go eventually.

I have decided to complete this program via the repeatable experience mission. The showdowns are too frustrating, and I can build a combo team of April Rewards / Mexico City players to work on both programs at once.

Man, that's incredible!!!
You have to tape these things and post on YT.
I'm glad I finished today w/o Showdown! -

My secret is to take pitches (even strikes) if I don't think I'm going to get "good wood" on the pitch... try to wait for a "mistake" pitch... also whatever perks you choose, try to use those to your advantage... also don't be afraid to pinch run for one of your "big bats" if their speed rating is low unless you know for sure that they are guaranteed another at-bat... I used this strategy to beat the WBC Showdown so I imagine the same applies to all the others like Mexico City as well.

Bill Buckner (not Keith Hernandez) but that's a wild way to win a Showdown... winning with 1 out left is nerve racking... I want to say one of my Showdowns runs came down to the last out and I got a runner on because of a bad throw that pulled the 1st baseman off the bag... one walk-off HR later and I let out a huge sigh of relief on my couch before moving on... lol

Just skip the showdown. You can complete the Mexico program without it.
