Online etiquette

I’ve been reading that it’s proper etiquette to quit when losing. My question is at what point do you look at quitting? How may innings and run difference? I know if losing 10-0 in first few innings that’s obvious. Is it like if run difference is equal to or greater than innings left? I hate to give up but I understand the concept. Time left versus reality of staging a comeback. Maybe everyone has a personal rule they adhere to in certain situations.

Quit while losing if the game is frozen. Not quit while losing. Play till you get mercied or till the game is over. Or until you feel like quiting. Just wait until the current play is over.

Your topic is an oxymoron.

As I stated I had read that you should quit when it’s obvious your outmatched and will not win thus wasting their time (quitting gives them the win). Apparently from you and the other that has responded, quitting is not the thing to do and just keep playing. And I’m not talking about DD - just online rated play. I am more than happy to waste the time of players who can see as if a beach ball is being thrown their way while batting.

As someone who plays a ton of online rated you should quit when or if you want to and that’s it. They added a mercy rule in the game if it gets to that point the game will quit for you but if that doesn’t happen you clearly aren’t getting blown out that bad. If you feel like you’re overmatched and don’t wanna waste your time or theirs, quit…but you’ll never get better quitting every time you struggle either.
There’s no real etiquette when it comes to quitting a game now that the mercy rule is in play.
Now there is etiquette playing the game like not R2 spamming, bunt dancing etc but not really for quitting.

There is none unless you play with people you know.

Think this mostly has to do w/ if the game/server freezes

It's online video game competition. The only etiquette I go by is, don't be a douche while playing the game...don't stand on the mound and take forever...don't bunt dance...don't pause spam...
Otherwise, if you're losing 100-0 and you want to keep playing, carry on. Just don't act like an [censored].
