Charisma showdown help.... PLEASE

I am two stages away from the end. My next challenge is Lee Smith and the penultimate stage is likely Chafin. Should I just skip to Castillo?

Go play like 10 games on HOF or legend in mini seasons or conquest. Really try to grind the ABs and win. Really try. Then go back into the showdown and it will like like slow pitch softball.
Regular mini season the best because you’ll be facing 95+ pitchers most of the time also.

No, but if youre cofident, go ahead and skip.
Do BP versus Chafin on Legend or HOF, to get an idea of his release point, etc. I struggled against him, but with about 4 outs left, i then switched from SZ, to Strike Zone Offset. It helped! -
Took me 9 days and too many attempts to count. Finally beat it bunting on almost every batter and skipping Chafin. Thank god it's over.

This and the Mexico Challenge took me several tries but following these methods helped me beat it:
A. Load up on LHB & Speedy guys. Youre gonna want to use them to drag bunt for hits & steal. For this challenge leading off w/ Ozzie Smith followed by Ricky Henderson was a big help.
B. Use Hero Time, Rally Time & Bunt Cheese. The quicker you get them diamond the better. I also like eagle eye for the bronze & silver cards.
C. Take pitches. If you have eagle eye early in your run, take till you get to 2 strikes. You dont strike out on pitches in the zone. The more tired a pitcher is, the more meatballs you get.
D. This is optional & risky but youre building a lineup to beat Castillo & Chaffin— who is a 180 is before him. Consider skipping and entering the final challenge needing 6 runs instead of 4. -
The strategy for all showdowns is to take 2 strikes. Make the pitcher throw pitches. You will get good pitches to hit as he gets tired. I’m a below average player and have little difficulty beating showdowns with this strategy

LH batters, bunt, steal in 2 ball counts, wait for a good pitch, mash good pitch, stay conservative on base path, Rinse and repeat...win

I'll give my first born to SDS if I can just skip this challenge. Currently on my 13th attempt in a row haven't even got to Castillo yet. I'm just so happy. Love the game hate this challenge. I'd like to complete the Charisma program but I don't think it'll happen. Maybe next season. Oh well back to COD
Sincerely, just a frustrated dudeBefore you play, do about 15 mins of batting practice on HoF or Legend. Don’t try to do the whole showdown in one sitting. Do it in chunks. Watch pitches and only swing at pitches over the middle. I know that sounds obvious but it’s my biggest weakness in the game. We get in the habit of thinking we need to hit everything but on these challenges, we realistically need a few big hits max per boss. Sometimes only 1.
For perks- use Hero time. Stack Hero Times if you get more than one. The practice part is key. I am not a good hitter. In my league I played a 9 inning game the other day and got 2 singles. That’s all. I beat the Charisma showdown on my first try (though I spread out the challenges over a few days). And I’m historically awful at showdowns. Keep at it. You’ll get it.

I was actually three stages away from the end, so I decided to play on against Lee Smith. I had Ozzie and Rickey, so I added Edman (speed). Leading off, Ozzie bunted for a hit and stole second. Fly ball, fly ball, win.
I added Biggio (more speed) and moved on to Joe Kelly. Ozzie bunted for a hit but was caught stealing. Rickey reached on an infield hit and stole second. Fly ball, fly ball, game over.
In summary, speed is definitely a better strategy for me than swinging for the fences and getting more and more nervous with every fly ball out.
I am skipping Chafin and I picked up the diamond bunt cheese perk. My question is... will the bunt cheese perk make 35-40 rated drag bunters like Rickey, Biggio, and Edman have a high chance of success?
EDIT: I made it, scoring 6 runs with 7 outs to spare! That's the first showdown I have successfully completed. The drag bunt cheese perk helped quite a bit. I was able to get several runners on with it, and Joc Pederson even beat out a sac bunt attempt. Thanks for all the good advice in this thread.
