Online Events No Fun for a Casual Player

I am not playing this years game, but when did OP start online? If he literally just started then he is already way behind the curve. Even non hardcore grinders are probably a good way into getting at least a significant amount of the available diamonds, especially since they made them available on day one.

It takes quite literally not even 3 hours to get an all diamond team. You know you can get players in places other than the market right?
You know that NOT everyone wants to play with 99s at every position, right?
There are still a few of us who play this game who have IQs above 70.

You can play however you want, but you clearly didn't read the OP. If you don't want to use 99 overall teams fine. It doesn't give anyone the right to complain they are facing said teams that take 3 hours to acquire. Online rated exists. DD may not be for you

Crazy with that IQ above 70 you don’t realize that diamond starts at 85 overall not 99..
Go play online rated it’s more your speed.

Yeah, your right. A week later and I got diamond players at every position; but I'd rather they make it more of a challenge to get a totally stacked team. Many of the diamond players, especially the Topps NOW players, never will be Hall of Famers, so why give them diamond ratings? If they only had one great game or one great week maybe they could just have a limited time boost. This would make the missions a bit more fun and challenging IMO.

You just need to play BR where you can have a lineup of Bronze Silvers Golds and a couple of diamonds.

I think you are looking for BR.

BR is freaking 3 inning NONSENSE. There's even LESS strategy in BR then the rest of this game.
Just another reason SDS needs to add a CAPPED mode to DD.
Think about it for just 5 seconds...do you think that the type of player who is drawn to a mode where it's NOT just all 97/99's on the field is also attracted to a mode that's a 3 inning crapshoot?
Why fight it?
Again...we have people come in this forum and tell people they shouldn't play Ranked Seasons if they don't want all the 97/99's. Don't like it, don't play. Go play Franchise. Go play Online Ranked!
But...those same people aren't even open to the IDEA of adding a CAPPED mode?
What do YOU care?!!?!?!
If SDS adds a capped mode...and you don't like it...don't play it. Take your own freaking advice, hypocrites.

BrikMahorn, chill the hell out. No need to get so angry and fling insults. I like your idea of a salary cap mode in DD that isn't BR. Salary cap RS with lower rewards, maybe. I think a lot of people would flock to that.
But the business model runs on high-90's, my friend. Any mode that isn't open to high 90's, either in lineups or as rewards, will get little love from SDS.

First Event I brought my lowly ranked team, hoping to be matched up with a similarly ranked team. Instead I got matched up against a team of all Diamond players. I guess some people have the time to build such teams, but for a casual player it would be nice to play against other players who have a life outside of The Show. Don't think I will try that again.
sounds like you need to grind to get some players... bringing in a low rated team to an Event or even Ranked Seasons is always going to be dicey depending on your skill level.
I actually toyed with the idea of having a team of commons and see how I stack up while gradually upgrading each position to bronze, silver, gold, diamond but would have to figure out my "upgrade rules".

let them add one, and see how long it takes you to find a match. No one wants that but you.

almost all of the topps now cards are not that great compared to other options. Who cares if a guy gets a 95 diamond but has low power or contact levels

Lots of people have made suggestions. I had the LS done before the end of early release and I have a job, a family, and a life..... Seems that you are just salty because you feel like you can't keep up with other people. If nothing anyone says is going to help and you shoot down every suggestion why do you even play this game???
-
If you had the LS done before standard release, you either paid out of pocket or completely neglected your job and family.

Out of pocket? If you mean, in-game purchases of stubs then yes, I always do that during early release. Sets me up for the whole season/ I have plenty of disposable income to spend on my hobbies. I can't play more than 2-3 hours a day though..I have other priorities...and sometimes I don't get to play at all ...so no, I don't neglect anything. I just buy stubs...but that wasn;t the point of my post. Point is, there are a lot of people who have high diamonds and 99s everywhere; this is the way SDS wanted this year's game to be

Fair. No judgment on that. But saying "I had the LS done before the end of early release, etc." should come with the caveat, "I buy stubs." Lots of people won't or can't.
On posts of this kind, I try to add NMS as a clarification, not as a "flex," but rather so that people aren't talking at cross-purposes.
