NEW ADDITIONS TO FRANCHISE MODE
-
There are many things this game needs to add in order for it to be more realistic than it is.
-
They need to add Era modes or Historic team modes or give you the opportunity to play with your favorite team from any year with that years roster for an entire season. Example.....I'm a Yankee fan and if I want to play with the 1985 Yankees team I should be able to. Or any year for that matter. In Franchise and online.
-
They also need to add a management mode where you can be the owner or GM of a ball club and control every aspect of that role. Hiring , firing, price levels of all that has to do with owning a ball club. Also dealing with players friendships and morale and Harmony between each other during the season.
-
In Road to the Show they need to add everything that has to do with being a ball player.....getting payed , moving into an apartment, then moving into a house and buying cars and boats and every other aspect a ballplayer goes through. Salaries and all of that. Are the players on your team best friends? Do they not like each other? We want to know. I want to be able to sit down with all my players and be able to negotiate contracts in an office with the agents.
-
They also need to concentrate on the little things that go on in a Stadium during the game. People in the stands spilling drinks and food. Mascots entertaining the fans , fans catching balls in baseball mits, real life stadium music, homerun
music, music after a base hit, music when a homeowner is hit. More injury occurrences , Maybe have a designated spot on a homerun where someone in the stands wins a car? Simply every little thing you can think of. -
Give us some real announcers. 3 come to mind.
1 John Sterling
2 Jon Miller
3 Gary Thorne
Get these guys in the game any way you can.

- To be brutally honest, they need to add basically EVERYTHING you were able to do in MVP Baesball 2005.
-
-
John sterling is awful
-
I really want to be able to play shorter seasons.

MVP 2005 was from the year 9 BO or "Before O'Bannon".
You are no longer able to use people's NIL without express written permission (and subsequent compensation).

You can get many rosters out of the roster vault and use those in franchise mode. Good chance they have something that fits your 1985 in there. They can’t do what you want due to licensing. They have to pay these players for their name and likeness.
-
They had all of these things in franchise and many people found it complicated and they ultimately removed them. I’ve been wishing for some kind of return but have long given up.
-
I wouldn’t count on them modeling RTTS after NBA2K.
-
Also, don’t count on this happening either.
-
These announcers are real announcers.
I loved MVP2005 but I’m not digging out my PlayStation and loading it up anytime soon to play it over this. Not sure I want to fire up my PS3 to play MLBTS 2010 let alone anything PlayStation era.

May I point you to Out of The Park Baseball? Basically they get by with it because they don't put the player likenesses for those old players in the game. Because MLB The Show has the likenesses and uses the players pictures they have to pay likeness rights. There is no conceivable way that they can do that for all players in MLB history.
- They also need to add a management mode where you can be the owner or GM of a ball club and control every aspect of that role. Hiring , firing, price levels of all that has to do with owning a ball club. Also dealing with players friendships and morale and Harmony between each other during the season.
Again, I would point you to Out of The Park baseball. Right now there are two options play the game on your console with more of a user friendly Franchise mode where you can actually pitch and hit, or play Out of The Park Baseball on PC and sim the games but get all of the Franchise depth you want.
- In Road to the Show they need to add everything that has to do with being a ball player.....getting payed , moving into an apartment, then moving into a house and buying cars and boats and every other aspect a ballplayer goes through. Not everybody wants that. I don't play RTTS as much as I used to but I have no desire to turn my baseball experience into The Sims.

The possibilities are endless. Imagine this glorious scenario.
Your struggling at the plate. The star shortstop and your friend on the team approaches you with “medical” advice. Do you follow his advice and risk an 80 game suspension?
Option A: Follow advice and get a performance boost.
Option B: Don’t follow and don’t get a performance boost. -

Ok, I have some thoughts if interested.
-
It would be cool if they basically turned March to October into a mode where you would replay a historic team's playoff hunt. Personally, aside from benefits for DD (sooo an exploit), I don't see much reason for the mode as constituted.
-
Sound like you wanna change the prices of hotdogs like Madden. It's cool, but realistically I doubt they want to invest money in developing that feature with Franchise Mode sadly not being where they make their money (microtransactions n DD).
-
Im noticing a theme, you want unique features from NBA2k, Madden, and potentially FIFA/NHL. Sounds like you want a "Sandlot Mode" where you build a team with friends/foes akin to NBA2k.
-
Personal opinion, once AI is able to help with this you will see a big jump. I imagine AI monitoring real games similar to players wearing green suits with trackers to get their stances correct. For the later parts with the free car and stuff, you gotta remember companies have to view things as +/- on the spreadsheet, I doubt they are selling more copies because of little features most will skip after the first time or two seeing them. Not trying to be a downer, just being realistic.
PS if you're going to a fan interaction the infamous "Pizzagate" at Fenway needs to be added.
- Short answer:
Get Don Orsillo in the game, he is the best in the business.
Long answer:
I honestly don't understand (I don't know if announcers are MLBPA or not), why announcers wouldn't line up from every team every year to record a season's worth of games (roughly a month of work to be done in spring training) with legit audio for teams based on who you choose. If you want to "cut corners" only have the team's home team announcers rather than traveling with the team.I know I have brought up cost in my responses, however, with the understanding that announcers aren't making money like the players they would gladly accept some bonus offseason money. Not to mention the team would benefit as this would allow them time to practice things like the backgrounds of players and pronunciations. This is a feature that I do believe if they were to put an effort into marketing Franchise mode moving forward would be a very profitable feature.

I can answer why M2O exists. It’s for people who didn’t want to play 162 game franchise mode. They took out season mode and added this in its place.

-
To touch base on the commentary. I like how 2k has several different combos. Maybe even just the select MLB network games could have different commentators.
Small detail but expand rosters for spring training past the 40. Then maybe we cut down as it nears start of reg season.

I know. I was trying to be sarcastic because I think his idea is ridiculous.

Just buy OOTP and you’ll get the franchise experience you’re seeking

I can't write this enough. SHORTER SEASONS!!! I want to play multiple seasons!! I also want to play multiple seasons of other games!
-
I know there are multiple issues with The Show offline modes but an option for selecting a presentation style no doubt hr cameras vs the unrealistic third person cameras could be added to this list. It kills immersion to the game. I know some people love the cameras so that is why I ask for an option like on HR derby mode.
I’ve never played diamond dynasty or and online modes so I don’t really care for cards. Seems like they have forgotten their offline community. We slowly witnessed presentation taking a downfall over the years.

Before M2O existed they had season mode and in season mode you could select the length of games. Season mode was able to be moved into franchise after year 1. The mode was so underused they cut it out for M2O so I’m not sure many people are in the same boat as you. I think people who don’t want to play 162 just simulate portions or play M2O.
