Unable to sell, not in events lineup or any lineup

It says it must be unequipped and it is. I had this issue back when I first started playing the show, but it was because of an event squad. This time, this guy isn't even part of the event. (Walter Johnson) Can't think of where he would be. Who wants to make me feel stupid and tell me what's the current fix to this generational issue? Thanks!
