I think MLB should take a page out of 2k and update the soundtrack as the game ages.

100%. My wife came in one day and was asking what music was I listening to. I told her it was whatever was on the game. She said it was trash and they should let us upload whatever music we wanted. Is that something we can do btw? Anyone know?

You could mute the in game soundtrack and play music you like...

You could mute the in game soundtrack and play music you like...
That's usually what I do. I put on headphones and listen to music or a podcast. Sometimes have Youtube or Netflix on too. It would be cool though if we could load stuff in though.

I don’t really notice since I’m only in the menu very briefly but [censored] to the guy who wants to toss his console out the window. I never tried but supposedly we can listen to our Apple Music through the PS5. Has anyone tried that who has it?

I turn the music off and listen to a podcast while I'm playing. It's become my favorite activity. A little gaming, a few cold ones, and matt and Shane's secret podcast.
I do still remember how good soundtracks were back in the day. I remember walkie talkie man from mvp baseball 05.

I do that... just set it up through the main PS5 menu, and once linked, you'll see an Apple Music icon in the control center (I think it's called that; you can just press the PS button to access it in-game).
Anyway, I kill the game's music in the options menu, and just play Apple Music when I want something other than just game sounds.

I can appreciate them giving a platform to these lesser known artists but they went overboard on the rap this year…just seems like there’s not enough diversity in the genres.

Dude, that song rips. I also like the Talk tune, White Reaper has a mid 2000s emo punk vibe, Metallica is solid, Tribe Called Quest is fun, The Roots, Phoenix, it’s definitely not awful. Are there a bunch of songs I don’t dig? Sure. They have been X’d out and will never play again haha.

I have about 6 that i havn't muted. Phish, Metallica, the Roots and John Legend, white Reaper, Phoenix and yes i don't mind the Talk one. Absolutely done with the Boys are back though it's a shame SDS chose that song because Thin Lizzy has some absolutely amazing songs.

One of the first things I do every year is turn the music volume completely down

Not sure about 23 as I haven’t tried yet, but in 22 you could load your OWN music onto a jump/thumb drive (USB stick) and while in the game import through SETTINGS—>SOUNDS OF THE SHOW—>MANAGE MUSIC FILES—>IMPORT.
Then use the PLAYLIST EDITOR to select which music you wanted to listen to while playing the game.

I remember the instrumental soundtracks with EA in the mid to late 90s with Triple Play and NBA Live that were AWESOME, before the licensed music f'ed up the games. That being said, there are a few good ones this year but as I said in a prior post this year's game just feels a bit off
