Can I play MTO offline and still earn Affinity points?

I want to grind on MTO while offline, and am wondering can I still earn progress for team affinity points if I play the mode without a connection.
Can I play offline and then just reconnect once I finish it and claim my rewards on DD. Is this possible?

I wouldn't.

Just play up until you get to the gateway, then stop and move on to some other team. You could have a couple of MTOs just sitting waiting to cash in within a game or two right when Stage 2 drops.

You should. Then when you login you will get the affinity. But, people have had issues with this mode. I haven’t seen issues with what exactly you are saying though.

Out of curiosity, why aren’t you always logged in?
