It’s annoying but it’s what people resort too. I had a guy throwing ohtani, then he brought in Oswalt. I beat him, but it’s a shame people ignore their bullpens. I have a great bullpen and if you bring a starter for a starter I’ll do it also. But hey we asked for choosing our starters and have to deal with it

To be fair, didn't the rays start doing this?

I haven’t seen it yet but won’t the starter have zero energy? If so, bring it.

Correct me if I’m wrong - I do not recall Morton, Snell, Glasnow closing out games. Agreed that relievers did start games but I don’t think any pitchers that saved a game for the Rays started a game?

No, I don't think they did either, but considering this was a very new thing in the last year to 2 years I can see that being the progression that teams go to. It's a little whack right now in the show, but the way the game is evolving something like that is too out of the ordinary. There also just needs to be better relievers in the game, there aren't a lot of good relievers in the game right now. I'll only bring in a starter if I'm in extra innings, which to be honest is a feature I really do appreciate but guys right now are abusing it.

You often see this, if you do in the playoffs. Randy Johnson came out of the pen in 2001. Kershaw came out of the pen last year.

    No. It's not.

I get a kick out of the people that throw the "it happens in real baseball" bs around. How many real life teams have the equivalent of the rosters that we have in the show?

If you're ok with the latter then don't bs with the former.

Is THIS really what was envisioned when wanted we complained about SDS allowing us to pick our starters? I sure as heck didn't.

Now I'm almost wishing we would go back to the old system.

why are you playing this game if you don't want it to resemble real baseball. go play basewars bro and get your kicks there. if i see someone toss their starter in, i will at least make 'em pay for it by getting the pitch count up. at least there is some resource management involved in the decision to pitch a starter. i do agree that there should be more punishment as you can pretty much just roll with your top three starters for the most part with little thought given to arm fatigue. but so it goes.

I mean, the starters closing thing? Who cares tbh. If someone wants to be see short-sighted and trash their rotation’s stamina by doing this, then so be it. Starters can come in for relief in big league games and there’s no rule against it. It’s the same as using a position player at his secondary or even OOP.

I don’t know what you want SDS to do about this. Correct me if I’m wrong, but there’s no MLB rule that says a starter has to start and a reliever has to come in for relief. So should SDS start making up rules that don’t exist in baseball? Like I said, the people who abuse this are getting a penalty because their starting rotation’s energy will be drained for the next game.

This will all be ironed out in time when they start releasing a few more endgame-quality relievers.

It actually isn't though. You can pitch Kluber, Newhouser, and Oswalt three inning each every single game and they don't lose stamina. That's precisely the problem. If stamina drain and regen worked properly this wouldn't be an issue.

I may be wrong but I think that the Ray's have an opener and then go to more relievers or a weak starter....not an ace
