I have always been a competitive person. Loved online gaming since it first became available on PS2 with dial up. I play the ultimate sweaty online game of scalping oil futures but my man DD is something else . Always done well in online rated on HOF legend pitch but ranked seasons solo and co op are crazy competitive. It's not a bad thing but holy moly it gets intense. There are some people out there who can hit anything. It's amazing really. Especially this year if you hang the ball up or paint the same corner too many times it's gonzo. I have never given up so many home runs as I have this year. I bet my ERA is double what it was last year. Craziness.

Now part of this im guessing is the higher skilled players have not all moved up yet and are still around the 400 to 600 range .

On that note matchmaking seems like it loves to put me with higher ranked players. Last game the guy was 9-2 and a 100 points higher than me ( going off memory here) and I stood no chance.

Question on that. When the mm slider is moving what happens when you move it yourself? Does it have any affect?

Yes, you can stop the slider from moving and even set it manually to a minimum rating that your opponent will have. That way, if you're at let's say 899 you can make sure you're not matching up with a really low rated player. Because if you do and you lose, or freeze, or lose connection, you'll drop an insane amount of points.

When the mm bar pops up if you hit the d-pad left or right you can control the range, I always keep it pretty low to match up with oppents in close range of me, may take a bit longer to find a game but males for a more enjoyable experience. I had a tone of fun doing RS and finishing the program easily my favorite change this year

I personally never touch the slider and let it ride. Only dicey time is when you’re in 800s and getting matched with someone like 950 on legend of which I’ll just restart it. Not there to cherry pick

I move it the search bar all the way to the left, I want to play someone in my rating range as narrow as possible.

It’s terrible right now. Even down in the 400s. Nothing but goons. Add the fact you can’t throw pitches in the dirt or over their head without it getting fouled off 900 times which was supposed to be improved this year. I love the content but it plays just like last year and I didn’t really enjoy last years game at all. There’s more RNG in the game anymore than actual skill. Anyways good luck buddy

I have to disagree. The game plays much better than last year!!! I’m having a blast with it and I’m super critical of SDS!!
