Were you expecting something different? They have been over-inflating attributes for a long time.
You don't put a first ballot Hall of Famer like Jeter on the cover and give him bronze fielding on his (potentially) top tier card. The absolute worst they could have done was maybe 88 or 89, with the ability to prestige up to a diamond shield. As soon as I saw he was going to be a collection reward, I knew it would be even higher than that.

It has been getting out of hand for years. I think we just need to accept that fact and move on. No way they can create the sheer amount of high level cards that they will need to create every season without getting creative.
Couple that with the boosts captains can give and just realize it is fantasy baseball in the truest sense.

Oh, and my own thoughts as someone who does not normally finish collections due to the time commitment needed (either playing or flipping) is that I am still not entirely sold on sets.
I still wonder why I would grind for that 99 Babe Ruth or 99 Chipper Jones knowing that they have an expiration date and that date is probably not very far in the future based on how long it would take me to amass that many cards for the collection..

I'll be honest, I hang up the game every year around or after the post season. I just can't play 12 months straight or I would burn myself out to the point where I could not get excited about a new version in the spring.
I am not sure I have played a single game of MLB 22 this year at all.
