The Show just listed some of the LS players that are starting off at Diamond on their Facebook account.

Guess they're throwing out the '3 year avg' formula as Michael Harris is starting off as a Diamond.

Yes, I know he was hot last year and ended up as a Diamond; but I guess they're pulling their best Oprah Winfrey impression when assigning Diamonds. (also considering Sale is still a Diamond and has pitched about 7 games in the last two years.

Also, Machado is a Diamond; so looks like he may be the Gatekeeper for SD until Tatis returns.

Not all diamond club members will start with LS diamonds. Those cards are to award the players for their previous season.

There’s no shot they don’t put Tatis on the Padres LS. I get what he did, but there’s no way he’s lower than an 89, and SDS won’t wanna make the collection easy to get.

It's going to depend on if he is on the Padres' Opening Day roster. If he's not on the roster; I don't think they can give him a card in the LS Collection. Maybe as a FA.

I'm assuming if that's the case; then Machado will probably be the highest rated player in the Padres' LS Collection.

Also, it doesn't state their ratings. For all we know they all can be 85s.

40 man roster. The opening day roster is 26.

I'm pretty sure these are LS cards and not a new type of card.

A few years back they had tweets where they showed a current player, with his LS Diamond card, and they were titled Diamond Club Members.

Harris makes a lot of sense, he only has 1 year in MLB and he was RoY ,an 85 is appropriate for him.

I didn't. It was in one of SDS's player presentation videos on Twitter. I think it was Buxton's or J-Rod's but I don't remember exactly.

By chance did they have the player holding a small case and when they opened it there was a statue, or something like an award, in it?

If so, I'm pretty sure that's SDS acknowledging the player will be starting out as a LS Diamond THIS year. (If they showed Harris and he had a 1 in the top corner, even though he eventually made Diamond last year, he stated out at a (I think) Bronze). That 1 means this is the first year that he STARTS out as a Diamond.

Guess we'll find out when the game release next week.

Yes. I just watched it. I really don't think that's going to be a new series. I think that means his LS card will start out as a Diamond this year.

But again, we may have to wait until the game is released.

    Maybe @CBrev47_MLBTS can chime in.

Are the diamond club cards determined from Franchise or DD? They are not the same thing. There are 5 live series guys getting 99's in franchise. So the rating criteria is different for the two modes.

So it appears the Diamond Club members will have a diamond card in the game, but we don’t know what their rating will be until the game comes out. Here is the page for when the Diamond Club in 21.

Harris was a rookie last year. So no 3 year avg. They can't avg what's not there. And he won ROY and is a 5 tool player. Not just a hitter. So I would be surprised if he wasn't a diamond. If he is only an 85 then his hitting probably won't be great.

Yeah. That's what I meant. Although your idea would've been pretty cool. No wrong answers here.
