Cool down period mention for Ranked Co-Op
-
Mention in the stream that I'd a player leaves a Ranked Co-Op game before it over, unless all players on your team agree to leave, they can incur a cool down penalty where they won't be able to play for a certain time period.
Not sure if it means they can't play DD or just Ranked Co-Op. And it can be as little as an hour up to a week (gradually increases the more you leave).
Not sure if that will be implemented in other modes like H2H to prevent dashboarding.
Maybe a dev or @CBrev47_PSN can chime in on my last statement.

Im hoping this is a thing in DD solo ranked. I havent played online in like 2 years because i got sick of the dashboarders and people leaving games while im up only to take an L and waste my time. Penalties for the scrubs that bounce when they give up a HR in the 1st is enough to bring me back though.

Sounded like they'd just be prevented from Co-Op-ing. Though, if the experiment is successful, I could see it being applied in Solo Ranked as well.

They said that if a player quits during a co-op game, that player will subjected to a cool down period. And the cool down periods will be stacked, so if they do it a lot, it could be a week before they are able to enter another co-op game. It doesn’t affect the other teammates. The game continues without the player who quit.
If a team decides to quit, they can exit the game as a team and they will not be subjected to a cool down period.

this is weird-
we’ve asked for this numerous times in regular ranked regarding dashboarding and the response is always “can’t penalize them because maybe they lost connection so it might not have been an intentional dashboard”
so if I randomly match up with some troll on my team that’s pitching FBs down the middle every pitch, not playing the field or intentionally making errors and he declines the mutual quit and I decide to quit
I will be the one penalized with a “cool down” period?
Please make that make sense lol

There has to be at least two players left. If you're in a 3v3 and two people decide to surrender the game, then you won't be penalized. The menu options at 39.48 in the video (I just happen to be at that point right now) are: Confirm Friendly Quit, Suggest Team Surrender, Quit Game (Penalty Applied).

I doubt it ever gets applied to a 1v1 mode. If your opponent quits, you get a quick win in those modes. If someone quits (especially if they quit regularly) in co-op, it can ruin the experience for your teammates too.

I can see playing with one rando but two is a gamble. Mode is way better with people you know with mics.
If I had the energy I would start a co op league. That would help people find some peeps to play with/against who you know won't quit or be clowns for 9 innings.

I am totally in for cooldowns in solo ranked, but they told this only for coop (unfortunately
)

No. The cool down period is for Ranked CO-OP (2vs2 or 3vs3) right now.
If you're playing with 2 other friends and decide to quit out the game, yourself, it will go to a 3vs2 scenario and you may get a penalty for quitting early.
Now if your team is getting trashed and all 3 of you want to quit there is an option where all three of you can decide to quit at the same time, by selecting that option in a menu, and nobody will be penalized.
I never played co-op, so maybe someone that played this mode can confirm, but I don't know if there is an actual option to quit a game by selecting 'Quit' from a menu or if they mean by dashboarding.
Regular Ranked H2H will not, as of now, have any penalties attached to quitting the game.

I know this is for co-op.
I don’t think you understood my post

This is so dumb. The game has been freezing for me once every 3 games or so and now I’m in a 2 hour cooldown and can’t play with my friends. I’d understand if ppl are quitting intentionally but why punish players when it isn’t intentional at all. Hope they fix this… ruining the game for me
-
I was so excited for this game to come out and I cannot even comprehend the magnitude of how unfair ranked coop has been. I am somehow getting booted in every online ranked coop game and now am up to a 2 hour cool down period. Why I am I getting punished for trying to play the game with my friends? I get it if someone is intentionally leaving a game, but why penalize when I did nothing wrong other than give you money. This game is an extreme disappointment.
-
5 out of 6 ranked co op games have gone into freeze offs and now I have a 2 hour cooldown period because the game thinks I’m quitting….this needs to be fixed asap or this amazing game is doomed
-
Bought this game just to play co op and I disconnect a few games or it freezes and now I can’t play for 2 hours…
-
You can’t implement a cooldown penalty when your game is known for connection and freezing issues. Someone is literally named freeze off in this forum.
-
Yea I got my first cooldown yesterday after waiting over a hour on a froze game. The coop is broken in so many ways.
