MLB23 DD changes and the market

A. Every card will be usable in some form or fashion (via the Wild Card).
B. According to the demo yesterday, Set 1 will be "retired" after Set 3 starts. But I could definitely see old sets come back eventually (especially after the game "ends" in October.
C. I could see Events requiring older seasons every once in a while. -
I still say that Seasons Mode will be a seperate mode to DD like how MTO is set up. Only difference is you're using actually cards from your inventory and not a certain team's roster.

It's not seasons mode. It's cards assigned to a set when released during a season. "Set" cards are used to build and meet the requirements of teams used in various DD programs, along with core and captain cards.

I think people are going a little crazy over this whole thing. The people at SDS aren’t stupid, terrible at execution and quality control yes but not stupid. They know the numbers for how many people are still using cards that release at certain points of the year. I think most people will notice they don’t have many of any set 1 cards left in their lineup by the time they are “retired”. I know I’m being a bit optimistic and they haven’t really earned benefit of the doubt but I want it to work so I’m hoping it will.

Was anything said about the seasons repeating? What happens after season 3? Does it cycle back to 1? Are these questions without an answer as of yet? So many questions….like
Do you think Manny will resign with the Pads or cash in back in LA and be a Benedict Arnold?

You can watch the video on Twitch, but to answer your question, Set 1 will be released in Season 1, Set 2 in Season 2 and so on. Each Season will last 6-8 weeks.
In Season 2 you will need to use Set 1, Set 2, and Core cards to make up your team. In Season 3, you will need to use Season 2, Season, 3 and Core cards. There will be a Wild card slot where you can use a card from any Set. The Set cards will be rotated out each season so you use the previous set cards, the current set cards, core cards and a wild card.

Awesome, thanks for breaking it down. I guess if they all end up being 8 weeks that’ll take us to the playoffs. I just wasn’t sure if there was a rotation since there are way more than 3 featured programs or innings or whatever they are calling the main program this year.

So they fixed the game play but ruined ranked seasons? Lol I literally don’t get this
There was 0 absolutely nothing wrong with the way content was handled- that was the part of the game that we never worried about

They still have regular RS with the same reward path as Co-op RS. You don't have to played Co-op RS to get the rewards, but if you have a buddy who isn't as good as you, you can play a co-op RS with him and help him get those rewards too. All the variations of RS feed into the same reward path. You can actually get the same rewards 3 times...

Literally nothing changes at all until like July (since every card released until season 3 will be legal in 1&2). I don’t think this is as big of a deal as people are trying to make it.

Depending on the number and quality of cards in each set, I think there's a chance that live series sell for more than they usually do at least early in the year.
