Ended up quitting my first game on DD against the CPU and was hoping maybe the glitch would subside but I went all the to the 19th inning before I finally quit out of frustration.

You went to the 19th against the CPU? Tell me you were on Legend difficulty.
Most times they'll just give you some BS to call it a day
