During the Headliner Program I could play 2-3 event games with the required cards to get what I needed instead of doing moments. You're just pulling the "multiple hours grinding PXP" out of your rear.
Really? Im gonna go out on a limb here and say your math is way off. For starters, just for the repeatable missions, you need 500 pxp for the pitchers and 500 pxp for hitters. I'll give you the benefit of the doubt and assume you're as good as you think you are and say fine, you're getting 1000 pxp every 3 event games. Good for you. 3 event games, depending on quality of opponent, is gonna take at least an hour so thats at least 9 event games to make the 25 points in the program that you forgo by skipping the showdown. By my calculations, thats roughly 3 hours to get the equivalent of showdown points.
I don't know why you're trying to make it sound harder than it was. I posted about it at the time
The 500XP was for a team of Headliners. Not 1 player. So 8 players were gaining PXP per game and my starters and relievers were also since they were Headliners too.
You gotta know what you're talking about before runnng off at the mouth.

I won't be buying if we're required to do Showdowns, moments and missions to unlock cards. The Headliner Program allowed us to skip those tasks and instead accumulate a certain amount of PXP whether online or offline. That's how every program should work. Requiring me to spend a hour doing 20 moments isn't the way to go about it.
Dude is absolutely right about the Monthly Program also. Unless you had the stubs to buy all the cards for the missions it was a drag and not fun at all.
They're trying to funnel everything one way and that's to get you to spend money. It's why SDS doesn't allow you to play old Programs or Conquest maps now. Give me one good reason why you wouldn't allow a guy who buys the game in June to play those when we've always been able tp prior to this year?
Gameplay needs addressed. Attributes are way out of hand. We need to get back to having fun. Game has turned into a chore.
Old lady: You playing online?
Me: Nah. I have to sit here and pump up and in fastballs to the CPU for 7 innings until I can begin to play
what I came to realize... albeit a little too late to implement myself... is that when you are selecting the cards from the Monthly Awards packs you need to alternate between Hitters and Pitchers so that you are getting XP for both instead of just one. I picked all hitters and once I completed the Hitter XP and the individual card XP I wasn't getting any more XP towards progress and had to wait to do other things to get the XP to start getting the pitcher cards.
If you alternate between hitters and pitchers when picking the cards from those packs things should go a lot smoother when progressing through those.

Showdowns absolutely blow. I don't mind Conquest because I can play it "in the background." DD needs to get way more creative this year. I still appreciate how almost all cards are unlockable for offline players who grind.
That being said, if franchise and RTTS don't have massive improvements, SDS can suck it. I'm out.

They can keep Showdown and moments. Just give those of us that dislike them modes alternative ways too unlock cards.
If I have to play an extra hour online versus they guy who enjoys Showdown and moments then so be it. At least I'm still having fun playing.
Smoking the ball hard for 10-15 minutes and watching all my good input go to waste is a big turn off. Especially when I end up completing it on the worst swing of the attempts.
Pitch 6 innings and don't give up a hit? Sweet. I'll strike out 17 only for the pitcher to lace a double off my maxed out confidence pitcher and then it's start all over.
Like why even do this to folks

For someone who can apparently complete a program in 3 event games, why would you need alternative ways to get points? Its only takes you 20 minutes as it is...

This is where i am. RTTS and Franchise need to get majority of the revamp. DD is fun to an extent until you have to play online where all the glitches and exploits riddle the game. Two of the top devs said 2 or 3 years ago said "If community notices a meta happening let us know and we will address it!" We all know how that has panned out!
It is even more evident they have gotten away from what made thier game great and turned to essentially the same model EA uses. I quit Madden 13 years ago this year will determine if buy the game ever again.
I gave them a break during Covid shut down but thier lack of community involvement has really showed me how much they truly changed. I always looked forward to launch day stream where they had Dev tourney and interacted with the fans answering questions and so forth, but now they don't even do that so i dunno if i will support it anymore alot rides on how they approach this season.

Complete a program in 3 event games? Or accumulate 500XP with 8 qualified cards in my lineup in 3 games? BIG difference
It's not my fault you can't understand the game you play and are salty that I proved you wrong the other day.
I can't get online these days without seeing passive aggressive, fat bodied, little peen fellas just making ish up.
Something tells me you own a red hat

But....you say i pulled those numbers out of my [censored] when i said you would have to grind PxP for hours to complete the program? So what is it? Is it taking you 20 games to get 100 points (which is roughly 7 hours worth of event games i.e. pxp grinding) or is it less than an hour as implied by the "your pulling those numbers out of your [censored]"?

The only change I really wish they'd make is removing time limits on innings programs. In the past I've always found time to complete them, but only by devoting nearly 100% of my gaming time to the show which I really really hate. I know some of the more hardcore players are content to play only this game year round, but for me that's just a recipe for burnout. I actually skipped '22 because the grind in '21 gradually wore me down to the point where I'm not sure if I'm going to buy the game this year either.
I just want the ability to relax and complete content at my own pace without the constant pressure of a deadline. If that means I'm just getting around to earning the first or second inning boss while most players are rocking lineups full of 99s, I'm OK with that. I enjoy the collection aspect of DD and don't really care about staying competitive online.
