Thank you. You don't have to win per se but you do need to earn stats with those cards mentioned to get the points. Winning does help but its absolutely not necessary. In any event you won't have to spend $1M. Even if it took you say 33 entries to complete the mission stats, it would only cost you $50K for Trout versus $1M

Thank you playa!! BR is something I haven’t taken an in depth look to see how it works.
At this time, I’d like to make my own trial and error list. thank you for the offer.
I am not a fan of online play. I’m not very good. BR is a perfect way to dip your toe in and get not only Trout but many of the other cards that are hard to buy now. And it’ll prep you for 23 if you plan to play.

He’s a good dude this is the truth. @TEXAS10PT_PSN, I’m glad you’ve gotten on the BR train.
The missions are where it’s at and it’s a great way to try cards out, PXP cards you already have and improve at online because you’re facing silver and Gold pitchers for the most part.
I learned a pretty effective draft strategy and am happy to share. Also, do no worry about the draft fee. I sometimes will redraft 3 or 4 times in a row to get the cards I want. Stubs are borderline irrelevant at this point and one trip through BR is worth about 2.5 million stubs including Trout.

More incredible info! Out of curiosity, what do you mean by “redraft”, I thought I was stuck with the 4 players to choose from? I wonder if this is possible during “Showdown” mode as well? There are several nice cards that I’m so very close to getting if I could just win these stinking showdowns!

Every time you draft in BR it costs 1,500 stubs. At this stage in the game, most of us have endless stubs or close to it, so if you don’t like the players you drafted (I.e. you want specific types of cards to complete missions), you can just forfeit and redraft. I don’t recommend this at the beginning of 23 when stubs are at more of a premium but once the flood gates open and you have a ton, don’t be afraid to spend. As @TEXAS10PT_PSN ’mentioned, Trout alone is worth 1 million stubs. But with all the other rewards you get along the path- it is equal to about 2.5 million stubs. So redraft at will. You’ll get it all back plus much more.

Oh wow! I get it now - it was the forfeit and re-draft that was eluding me - I would’ve been afraid I’d get the same crappy choices no matter what! Thank you so much for explaining it to me - I can’t wait to try this

My question is this: are y’all saying that if one played online (what does BR stand for anyways?), that there are avenues to these cards WITHOUT having to purchase them? Or is it that by competing online you get so many more stubs per win that the cards would then become much easier to purchase? There are cards that seem to allow no avenue for purchase via marketplace and I assume that just like the cards you earn collecting xp in a specific Program, that perhaps it’s the same with the online play? Could anyone let me know which events are the best and have good rewards? Please - I would greatly appreciate it! Also, is ‘moonshot’ a home run derby where you get cards as well?
I didn't read your whole post, it sounded like a rant, so I skipped to this part.
Aw, man, go back and read what I wrote, please? It wasn’t a rant at all, but it was a story of my one game online. If you think it’s a rant then I’ll edit it out because, while long-winded, I try to keep my posts self-deprecating, with truth, and with no agenda whatsoever, and if I rant, it’s to my wife. Will you do me this favor? I also want to thank you for your answer

If you look there are specific player missions for bronze, silver and gold. Your 2nd, 3rd, and 4th picks will always be those cards. So when you finish a specific player, draft someone else. And the. The series missions (500 PxP with Veteran cards) pitchers obviously get there faster but getting as many as you can definitely helps. Good luck. Personally I use all my diamonds and golds on offense, and my bullpen I fill with silvers and bronzes. Starting pitchers can be your bronze and commons..

Hey man, I really appreciate you saying that - I truly do. I’ve got a bit of a curse of being long-winded, and im going to work on keeping things shorter in the future, especially now that I’ve learned the correlation between long posts and ranting online. I’ve learned a lot today just from this thread, and am very happy about it! Thanks again

@TEXAS10PT_PSN and @Ericulous1_PSN :
I cannot thank you fellas enough for sharing your wisdom with me today. This is the kind of info that I’ve so desperately needed these last several months! Wanna hear something else ridiculous? I pitched EVERY game with my created pitcher for 5 seasons in RTTS before I accidentally figured out that one could skip this while still improving your player! I’m still afraid to touch the sliders but I’ve considered it to see if I can get my created pitcher to get as many strikeouts during SIM as I do against the hapless cpu when I’m pitching haha!
I’m about to start my first BR right now, and it’s like it was the first time I played! All new and thrilling - I have all of y’all to thank for this. I’m serious - I’m a real life person who you guys have helped today and my gratitude is also very real and true - this is what it’s all about if you ask me..
-
Another point worth mentioning that took me awhile to figure out. Before starting the first game, you are presented your batting lineup in order of catcher-infielders-outfielders. You can reorder them by moving the cursor up into the lineup and selecting players and shifting them. I still occasionally see opponents with the default order and I am pretty sure the players do not know they can reorder. I always hit my mission players at the top to maximize their at bats for more points. Sure, it means my diamonds hit lower, but I am there for mission points more than wins.

Glad to hear man. I started playing in 21 and guys like @TEXAS10PT_PSN, @the_dragon1912, @arvcpa_MLBTS and @SaveFarris_PSN amongst others helped me get through the season and complete just about everything haha. There are mostly good dudes on here. If you ever have any questions, I’m happy to help if I know and defer to some of the godfathers if not. There are many others that I haven’t seen on here as much but maybe when 23 starts, they’ll be back. BR is my favorite online program and the most rewarding. Don’t worry about losing (although winning is fun too). Just keep nailing those missions. I believe they are mostly repeatable now.
-
When the new game comes out, are there repeatable pxp missions like there are now. I know they won't have the rewind until the end, but hiw many cards do you get to choose from when you get the 100 points? I just started playing BR11.

By the time you hit 100 points, you will have gotten two packs with the 99 expensive cards. You get one card from each pack.
You can see the reward path from within BR and if you hit triangle on those packs, you can see what cards are in there to choose from.
-
Are there repeatable missions early on too?
-

Yes. You can start working on them in your first game. I have a spreadsheet that can help organize your drafts to get the most done in the missions, if you want to use it.
-
Rewatching last year's DD stream, the Bronze/Silver/Gold XP missions were NOT repeatable in the 1st BR season. Luckily, BR rewards don't usually get super expensive until July or so.
-
@Playaz23_PSN said in Trout Finest 22:

If you’re asking about when 23 comes out, the pxp missions didn’t become repeatable until the end of the game cycle. You can repeat the 9 in a row and 12 in a row but I’ve never done that haha. However, it is still absolutely doable. I have never won more than 5 games in a row and very seldom have I done that. Yea, winning and more importantly hitting and scoring helps you do it faster but the PXP and series missions along with the bronze silver and gold mission plus a few wins now and then will get you there.
