Event Vs RS

I think they problem comes down to sample size here. In event games, if you’re a player that’s contesting for WS, you’re gonna be the far better player at least 4 out of 5 games. Those games will feel great since you’re gonna crush the guy. That 5th game, eh it’s only 3 innings. “anything can happen in a 3 inning game”
Then in RS, you’re playing someone at your skill level (even though you probably want to think he’s not) and you get 9 uninterrupted innings of tough baseball.
When you’re talking about how the game plays, or if you’re “right on” everything, don’t forget to factor in your opponents’ skill levels. You may not realize it, but if your timing is off on a lot of pitches, it might simply mean... wait for it... they’re actually good at pitching.

The quality of player has nothing to do with the timing of hitting. A fastball is a fastball and so on, I get better players sequence pitches better and locate and all that, but it still does not change how much different timing felt hitting in ranked seasons on Hall of Fame compared to the event on hall of fame.

Nah, not when the hitting just feels lagged/different on ranked seasons. And how do you know the people I played in events weren't high ranked in ranked seasons too?
Just saying it is because of better players that's why it feels so different is lazy. I get what you're saying, but it is not like I am the only one saying the event and ranked seasons feels way different hitting wise.

I made a thread about this a few days ago and I think a huge reason for this is the lowered pitcher energy which, among other things, makes it harder to hit corners and therefore it's much easier to hit

That’s a solid point too.

I'll agree that it should be easier to hit since they are tired, but my results didn't feel much different.
I am talking strictly timing on pitches. It just felt way easier to be on time or even early on fastballs/sinkers. Who knows, maybe the guys i played in the events really did stink and I am over thinking it. But it just felt way more difficult to catch up to heat in RS than events.

Yeah, I’ve thought about this too. It definitely accounts for some of it, but timing up the same pitcher for 9 innings should make it easier. I played a game against Kluber earlier where I only swung at Sinkers until I had 2 strikes and still couldn’t even get a good timing feedback. Way late, Way Early all game long. Idk. Something about the timing just feels much different. I’m not sure if it’s a lag issue, but I have good internet and use a gaming monitor so I think most of that should be limited in most games. Doesn’t make a ton of sense to me because I usually never have an issue with timing. My issues are usually only from PCI placement. I guess I might just suck at this years game haha. I’ve had no trouble making WS in past years, but maybe I just am having trouble adjusting this year

This also could play into it as well. More pitches get hung so it’s easier to do damage. Makes some sense.

I haven't made HoF in ranked yet but I dont want to, I cannot touch the pitch speeds in the event. I'm kind of trash at hitting but this is ridiculous. 0-0 games in the 8th, so the other guys are trash too lol...I just end up throwing fastballs down the middle until they walk it off so I can get the innings for team affinity at least.
