Gotta Give Credit When Due

After watching their gameplay feature stream, I have to give credit to SDS for listening to the community and making (what seem like) some great changes.
I was very vocal about my displeasure with the game before taking a hiatus. I’m happy with the changes they’re implementing and I’ll definitely play the tech test.
Kudos SDS, props to you, looking forward to how 23 plays.

The user didn't gain any more control. The new throwing meter is just more RNG. It looked the same to me except for the outfielders acting more stupid.

I'm still skeptical as the gameplay stream and tech test have been somewhat false advertising towards the actual game the last few years. However, this feature premiere has me excited more than usual. The Outer PCI reduction is huge. The fielding changes may seem bad for those that aren't aware but if they work as advertised it improves hitting tremendously. I never thought I would see the day where they said the outfield didn't play big enough

Wasn’t able to watch, but hearing “outer PCI” reduction and the “outfield didn’t play big enough” make me hopeful. Any other specifics that were mentioned?

I just don't think the solution to the outfield was to make your player look like a complete fool.
I know Castellanos isn't a great fielder, but having him run in on a ball hit so high and hard that it hits the wall just isn't a good look.

They acted like they weren't the ones who implemented all the foul balls. Kinda funny
It's also sad that the game look just like it did 5 years ago and we're on how many years of next gen?

I agree completely, but them taking at least a little accountability today gives me more hope than the last few years

Agree on the outer PCI but the inner PCI looked awful small to me. If they just eliminated the outer PCI altogether and had a larger inner PCI pre 21 I would be happier. Isn’t timing always been the key to solid hitting?
Edit: I originally watched the stream on my phone. Watched it again on the big screen TV and the inner PCI looks good to me. If everything works as they have shown it will be a big improvement. Hopefully it works and they are not patching the game after a week

I haven't seen the stream so I can't judge based on that. I will however judge them on past promises where they ended up striking out, so it's not going in their favor. But again, we'll see. Definitely not on the hype train tho, hard to erase all their failures over the last 5 years from memory.

Don't blame you. I'm more optimistic then most longtime players anyway. I don't even plan on playing the tech test as that has been false hope for years. Expect the worst and you can't be disappointed lol

Only "updates" I care about from the stream:
- "field will play bigger" they said more hits and more green grass
- outer PCI change = less foul balls and more K's
- Less "fluky" hits on late swings
Could care less about:
- New feedback boxes
- supposed "new animations" we've heard that before...
- Co-op rewards: they look basic and we need it to work without freezeoffs to know if rewards are even worth it.

None actually. they cant exceed the capabilities of last gen cause of cross play,so until its no crossplay or next gen only we really havent a next gen game yet.

They always talk a good game pre release and put the same product out. Maybe it will finally be different?

Nah, the game has been the same or worse for years and years. Sure people will complain, but you can’t just throw that blanket statement out when SDS has been complacent as F.
