Early access and captians edition preorder

Yeah all these games have this issue... I know I was going through it when I was trying to get on the PS5 version of NBA 2K23, I ended up playing a little on PS4 version since it was dual entitlement and then I went to sleep and played a little on the PS5 version before I had to get ready for work just to get a feel for the game. I already got approved for days off for the 14th (WWE 2K23) and 24th (MLB The Show 23) so I hope that I'm not spending too much time on those days trying to connect to servers because that would suck.

I don't remember any issues this year with Early Release. But I do remember the servers crappy out a month or two into the season.

I don't remember any issues this year with Early Release. But I do remember the servers crappy out a month or two into the season.
There were some issues during early access but after the official launch date, they got really bad. I hope a lot of people join the tech test and stress those servers to the max so it will alleviate some of the issues after launch.

I thought you get some type of voucher sent to you to get access to the game early if you get the physical editionā¦ no?

What I'm saying is that you would either need a psychical copy or digital copy to play the game. And what's to stop someone from pre-ordering a disc version to get the voucher than cancelling the order?
I'd you want early access, and don't want to take the chance of waiting for a disc version to be delivered, then just buy a digital version.

this will be my first year back doing tech test in some capacity but even then I don't think that amount of traffic will ever prepare SDS for whats to come at Early Release and Official Launch because a lot of players will forego the test to play their other games until the game officially comes out.

You are probably thinking of pre-order bonuses. Typically the generic preorder bonus code would get sent to you via email or it would be printed on your receipt when you pick up the game, depending on the retailer you purchased from. If you preorder you will get the game sometime that day (either the 24th or 28th) but no guarantee for it to be in your hands at midnight unless your preorder is a pickup order and the retailer makes it available for you to pick it up the night before or during a "midnight release" event. If you have it shipped the retailers are usually good about shipping it "Overnight" on the Thursday 23rd (or Monday 27th) in order for it to reach you sometime on Friday 24th (or Tuesday 28th) if you placed the order in time for it to ship out that day.

The only physical version that gets early access is the Captain's Edition. And yes: it comes with a voucher for all the packs & stubs.
