Can you play entire game

This might sound like a stupid question but as a new player and from the UK baseball is not something we watch.
However its scratching a need for me atm, so am playing mlb 22 Road to the show I can't play others because I don't understand the stats and the game done seem to explain what each icon means or really what the stats are for an uneducated baseball brit.
Is it possible to have the entire game play out it keeps simming to me and I keep getting out or end of the in ING or whatever its called when we all walk off. So I would like to watch others play and see what they doing to learn..
Because the batter hits the thing and I run but the guy on 3rd don't run and I get caught going a shuffle in the middle. Or I don't run and I get angry symbols I don't know when I should or can't run.
Also the game seems to put me in and I never make it round.
Hopefully it's an option to play entire game

Congrats on getting hooked on MLBTS. Baseball is a lot of fun, but there are little details that we (Americans) have learned growing up that help us better understand how the game work. Once you get it down, I think you will like it much better than Cricket.

This will help you better understand the controls. Don't be hesitant to ask questions about rules because that will help you understand the game also.

In prior editions there was a way to do this, I haven't really noticed it in later editions as feedback from gamers led them to streamline RTTS to get you to your at-bats/fielding opportunities and you pitching quicker.

Question so when the batter hits the ball do I need to make the base before the catcher touches the ball or can I only run if the ball bounces?
Second when am in field position and have a guy on the first second and third base or just one on second or third. Should I throw to first to get the batter out or focus on the guys on second and third..
From what I have worked out you only score a run once you get back to home plate so might be an obvious question take the guy in third out but to stop the inning you need to take the batters out right?
Sorry if I sound like a total idiot and insulting the basics of the game am just unsure how you stop the game to get back on bat because sometimes I get one bat and spend an age on the field others I throw one ball and win the game.
That said what a great sport hit my first home run today and felt like a champion then the news guy come on chatting to a girl and said basically I was garbage haha

- If the fielder (the players on defense are fielders) catches the batted ball before it hits the ground, it’s an out. It’s called either a pop out, line out, or fly out. If the the ball hits the ground before the fielder gets it (the ball is in play) and the runner touches 1B before it is thrown to the fielder handling that bag, the runner is safe. If the runner runs straight after the hitting the bag, and he is safe, he remains safe. If the runner turns towards 2B, then he can be tagged and is then out, unless he gets back to the bag before being tagged.
If there are multiple runners (say a runner on 1B and one in 2B) and the ball is in play then the next empty bag (3B) is called a force out if the fielder throws the ball to the third base before the runner tags the base).
The fielder has to tag (with his hand or glove, whichever has the ball in it) the runner if it is not a force out situation. For example, you have a runner on second and the ball is put into play. If the runner on second leaves the bag (say to run to third) and the fielder with the ball tags him, he’s out. In this case, the fielder catching the ball has three choices, throw the ball to first and try to get the batter out on a force play, or if the runner in second tries for third, throw the ball to third in time for the third baseman to tag the runner out.
Here’s something else to confuse you
if the runner on second sees the ball being thrown to third and turns to go back to second. The fielders can throw the ball back and forth and run down the runner to try and tag the him out. That’s called being in a pickle.I hope this isn’t too confusing. When you play CPU game, you can look at the game log to see the narrative of what happened. This may help getting some of the terminology and situations down.

2 and 3. (Runners on second and third) This depends on the number of outs you have. If you have two outs, get the runner out at first, because it’s the easiest (it’s a force play). The runs coming in won’t count on the play that results in the third out. There are some are some exceptions to this, but they are rare.
It also depends on if you’re willing to give up a run for an out. To get the advancing runners out at third or home, they have to be tagged.
If you have the bases loaded (runners on first, second, and third), it depends on where the ball i[censored] to. If it’s in the infield, throw home because that’s a force out. Actually, all the bases are force outs in this situation. If it’s in the outfield, hit L1 to get it to the cut-off man (an infielder who goes out on the grass so the outfielder doesn’t have to throw so far in), and then make a decision from there on who you can get out.

There is also something called a Double or Triple play (a triple play is VERY rare).
If you have a runner on first and the ball is put in play, the runner on first has to advance to second. The fielder can throw the ball to second for a force out (if he gets it there before the runner tags the base) and then the second baseman (or fielder at 2B) throws it to first. If he gets it to first before the batter tags the base, then he is out and you have two outs on one play.

If you type mlb.com/glossary into your browser, under the 2023 rule changes is a big list of mlb terms and their abbreviations. click on them for the definitions.
also if you use rules instead of glossary you can bring up the rulebook( might be better to learn the terms first) there is a lot of them, so it will take a bit of time.from a lifelong fan it is worth it though.welcome to this awesome game. -

Cheers for the info. Actually makes alot of sence I was just running when ball wa[censored] and then. 3rd base would be stood still and I'd get caught and I couldn't work out why. Makes sence now thanks.
