Neither DH or removal of the shift improves this game even the slightest bit though. Almost everyone past 700 in RS has the shift turned off anyway and DH just gives a player less of a reason to take Randy etc. out of the game

I have literally zero inside info on whether or not DH is coming to DD but my guess would be no. It would eliminate the need for a bullpen essentially unless they rework how stamina works and one of two things would happen with the bench:
1: it becomes obsolete
2: People just start having a platoon at as many positions as they can so they can just sub a guy in once they see who’s pitching.Honestly it wouldn’t bother me that much if they added it but I would prefer it to stay out.

Why wouldn’t it come?
It's really not that hard to understand....
They have programmed this game to play a certain way. If they remove the pitcher hitting and the shift they will have to "reprogram" the game.
Why do you think 2nd basemen can slide 20 feet on the dirt to catch a screaming one hopper?
Why do you think the starting pitcher always gets a hit after you've just shut down the 8 best hitters in the game?
If you have played this game long enough you know exactly what I'm talking about.
We're basically not going to be playing by MLB rules because SDS doesn't want to do the work needed to implement them.

Yo add to my last comment I feel like it would really just translate badly to DD. It works in real life because generally starters don’t go deep into games anymore. With how the stamina is in the game you really only have to take the starter out if he is getting shelled otherwise you could throw a complete game every time.

Not only because Jeter is now in the game but with the shift being gone and now being able to use a DH. The game will be flawless, I also think they will add attribute for theme teams kinda like Madden. I hope the gameplay team can get it together make the necessary changes.
I am against the theme team boosts and that type of thing. I enjoy the simplicity of the team building in MLB.

I just finished reading thru these comments and found it interesting looking in on what everyone had to say regarding some of the upcoming MLB rule adjustments/changes and how it may or may not impact the new release of TS23…there’s a great deal of passion and zeal for the game of baseball itself, as well as for this totally awesome video game franchise and when these are both combined together it’s just on a whole new level of intensity and interest. I’m new to this game , just started playing TS22 about 4 months ago and have enjoyed it and have enjoyed reading lots of interesting posts on this forum. There are so many intelligent, interested, and highly invested gamers that are on this forum that have really made my short time playing this game very enjoyable…of course you’ll always have some who like to stir things up and agitate, but that’s everywhere you look anymore…however I’ve found that the super-cool and interesting conversation wins the day most of the time!
I didn’t intend on being so long-winded, funny how that happens - I apologize for that. What I wanted bring up to y’all regarding the upcoming changes was the “pitch clock” that they said would also be introduced to the Big Leagues this year. I’ve not heard this mentioned much in conversation and wondered what some of y’all think about it? Judging by what I’ve gleaned on this forum regarding major implementations, I’m pretty sure that’s something that wouldn’t be in this years edition of The Show, either…but I am very curious to see how this gets implemented and how it affects the game. I suppose it will be similar to the shot clock in basketball and the play clock in football, and I remember when they were making this announcement to us the other day it was mentioned that it had been tested across something like 8000 innings in the minors with seemingly favorable results. It makes me think about some of the giant personalities that pitch in the majors and I can’t help but think that some of these hurlers ain’t gonna like getting their routines dictated by an official time-keeper, perhaps? I can think of several interesting scenarios right off the bat (pun intended) that have the potential to make for some interesting and very entertaining baseball…which is what brought most of us here in the first place, and I’m really interested to learn more about it and hear some thoughts on the subject, and especially if anyone has some of the low-down on the topic, or maybe have been to one of these minor league games where it was being tested and wouldn’t mind describing it? I’d really enjoy reading what some of the thoughts are, please.

I don‘t think, the pitch clock gets into 23 because MLB will not have it in 23 … But I will look forward to it because it gives a new element to the game
